i'd also like to see MS SQL Server. Microsoft released a Linux version, but afaik they never released the source code.

The only thing I seriously miss on Gahnoo/Linux is a truly professional tier DAW.
Ardour, LMMS etc. just can't compete right now with Ableton, FL and the like.

Honestly, i would want all the games to be open source, but i don't really know how to make vidja companies to not get scared from doing that.

And what would be the point? They're will not have any profit, thus destroying the game market. Oh wait...

Barony seems to be doing just fine

I haven't thought about proprietary software for years. It doesn't even enter my mind anymore.

i don't think everyone will just copy their code and compile it. Besides, every game has a pirate copy of it anyways.

you must at least have a game you liked that is proprietary.

Irfanview. It's the only reason I keep Wine installed. And the worst part is that there's zero reason for the source to be closed, since it's freeware anyway. I really have no idea what the reasoning behind proprietary freeware is.

>what is VS Code
everything after VS2010 is slow garbage anyway
also, Edea a slut, agnes > edea.

This. If the product is free (as in price, and without being free as in freedom) then you are the product.

Well it doesn't make any DNS queries when it starts up, so I'm willing to take the chance.

why not gimp with that add-on that converts very well various image formats (i don't remember the name)

because I use it more as a viewer, to quickly scroll through a directory of files, rather than an editor or converter. Gimp is very much an editor rather than a viewer. Also Irfanview has the only good implementation of "rename, copy, or move the file that I'm currently viewing" among all the image viewers that I've tried. There's a keyboard shortcut for it, you can store several target directories, and there's an option that makes it not change the position in the directory after you rename a file - so if I rename b.jpg to q.jpg and then continue scrolling through the folder, the next image it shows me will be c.jpg, not r.jpg. Gwenview, one of the few native-Linux image viewers that even had a rename feature, didn't do this and was thus very clunky to use for renaming files.

Avatar fags get out

you do realize that vscode is open source vs?

proprietary and open source are not mutually exclusive retard

Visual Studio Is great for beginners with all the stuff it offers out-of the box. And i would not recommend VS studio for an old laptop without an intel i7 and a fast MD.

Visual Code is great for advanced devs tho.

you still posed an incoherent question, le memer

Alright i will put in no Jow Forums terms.

Which software, who hasn't publicly released their code, you wish it should have a version with all of its code released?

Honestly i only want libreofice to have better compatibility with docx, xlsx and ppt. Also some ui changes.

i only want docx and xlsx gone

I heard that it is a bit autistic the dev team of libre. They want all for the looks of a 2007 word.

However i had no issues when writing docx stuff on libre,

Fucking why? Visual Studio is awful. The only good part of Visual Studio is the debugger, and frankly it's not even that good, it's just that the state of the art is fucking awful. Seriously is anybody even fucking trying? LLDB? GDB? Are you kidding me?Oops my inferior process tried to attach to the pty and now my debugger segfaulted. Don't even bother bringing up IntelliJ IDEA, debugging a managed runtime w/ a program written in said runtime is cheating.

Yeah this would be better
Its only complex stuff, and devs of open source projects are generally autistic.
