Ever heard of a "summer cinema"?

Yes, they look like ass

drive-in theater

If you don't find an actual outdoor cinema with a proper projector "satisfying and comfy", I recommend you stick to the FW900 you have set up in your mother's basement.

>getting this mad over a shitty screen

looks like it would have shit black level

leaning towards this being the proper answer. How often are you going to watch a movie in your back yard? Like maybe once a year. Drive-in is already set up and will give a better experience than you ever could.

Imagine the mosquitos

>tiki torches

and the humidity. And the bugs flying in front of the projector

this is my first thought
without a screened enclosure there's nothing comfy about being outside in the evening hours

>So I want to go outside to be inside, is it too much to ask?
FW900s are trash, but highly regarded for some reason on Jow Forums. The thing you have to understand is there are different thresholds for different situations. You can't just go outside with ambient lighting and expect black levels out of a fucking LaCie or a BARCO. It's a projector, it's going to look like shit no matter what, even more on the outside. But the outdoor cinemas are the closest to not shit inside that spectrum of shit.

>It's a projector, it's going to look like shit no matter what
Under optimum conditions top-tier projectors will have the finest image quality you'll ever see.

FW900s are not trash. Stop meming.

>go outside and play youre spending to much time looking at screens

By moving it inside.

Your black level is going to be shit no matter what. So you need something else to wow people with. And that means you need good audio. Stereo speakers won't cut it, you need a big subwoofer to really get that visceral feel.

I'd also be picky about what was showing. People are going to be eating and talking during an outdoor screen, and they won't follow a movie that is super heavy on plot. They want to see something that is more larger than life and action oriented. But I would also steer clear of modern cape shit.

Gladiator, Twister, Mad Max, stuff like that would be good. No Star Wars. Normal people right now don't want to be one of "those" people.

>watching a movie when the sun is still up

disgusthngin

make it inside the house.

tfw you actually have someone to watch movies with..
