The leading GNU/Linux publication phoronix did a series of Windows 10 benchmarks using stock configuration and a spyware-disabled configuration (using a tool called "w10privacy"). The results are pretty staggering: Some IO intensive workloads run stock at less than one third of the speed they do when Wintoddler spyware services are disabled. The difference is biggest in IO-intensive workloads but games too are affected by quite a number of frames.
All we need is the right major GNU/Linux-exclusive AAA title and the nations will accept the GNU World Order. Meanwhile all you Wintoddlers can improve performance and get more frames by disabling the spyware.
Are you really this mad that nobody is using linux anymore thanks to WSL?
Evan Edwards
I have the impression the vast majority of wintoddlers run stock and don't even change the wallpaper so I thought I'd share to help out.
Don't know a single person using WSL.

>debloating wangblows every update I've only had to do it once
Henry Moore
BUMP, the shills are going mad about this.
Owen Fisher
>a couple posts >last post was an hour ago they sure are going mad

>buy cheap laptop with 64 GB eMMC storage >comes with Windows >buy 256 GB Samsung NVME SSD >install linux on it with full disk encryption >keep windows installation on 64 GB eMMC drive so I can show customs something >decide to try to disable all the services >windows starts updating >still updating what a bullshit mickey mouse joke of an OS.
Mason Taylor
This is only an issue on trash tier hardware.
Ryder Moore
they re-enable things after updates

>They are still denying it.
Look at these Wincucks. Look at them and laugh.

This
Now, which one anyone who's not a tranny will choose: >run a simple debloating too and carry on as usual, or >install a server kernel and learn an entirely different os with significantly changed workflow, no guarantees and limited compatibility
trannies usually are scared of learning and want someone to give them an easy out so
Michael Martinez
But the debloating tools don't work, workflow is a buzzword, and Linux is easier ot use.
Nathaniel Jackson
>Intel Core i9-7980XE @ 2.59GHz (18 Cores / 36 Threads) >"trash tier hardware." so what is .. good tier hardware in your world? A 28 core Intel CPU overclocked to 5 GHz cooled by a 1600W compressor?
Why are you using reddit features on an anonymous imageboard?
Ryder Rogers
kek. I'm going to abandon computers soon as Windows 7 lose its popularity and anything past it becomes the new standard, as happened with windows xp. Sadly this time its not Windows 7 but Windows 10.
Why even bother trying to learn something that clearly has bad intention behind it. Fuck updates, fuck security. I don't need computers to live anymore.
World is probably going to end before it even happens.
Lucas Diaz
Nice theory, you can start your hermit legacy by getting the fuck off this teknologee board for starters.
>"In pure CPU workloads, the W10Privacy changes had no measurable impact on these benchmarks" Seems to only affect disk IO
Ethan Cox
It's because of how overzealous Windows Defender is. It tries to scan everything..
Carter Harris
Nah. I have some stuff going on right now and Jow Forums is a good place to hang on. I used to browse another IB but it closed and nothing left despite its irc channel.
John Davis
Would be interesting to see this one week apart, windows defender and stuff like it could decide to scan the entire system when it's activated but it shouldn't do that more than once. Of course.. other things like Windows Update are never done since there will be new updates coming.
Gavin Robinson
>"Among the services disabled were Windows Defender, although that alone hasn't yielded much of a performance impact as shown in some past benchmarks when wondering about the overhead of Windows Defender"
Older antivirus software had a lot of overhead but WinDefender is surprisingly light.
Jeremiah Sanders
>w10privacy >ubuntu Huh?
Dylan Reyes
phoronix installed Ubuntu on Windows and tested it's performance as well as the performance of various programs running native on the Wintendo. w10privacy is just the tool used to disable all the bloat services, just read "with shit disabled".
Joseph Howard
>install a server kernel and learn an entirely different os with significantly changed workflow, no guarantees and limited compatibility Server kernel? At least attempt to pretend you know what you're talking about. Surely there's no backwards compatibility issues on Windows and unsupported hardware.
