>Ascended languages
MATLAB

you mean Octave, user :')

Just get things done.

No, I don't, although it is nearly as ascended.

Had to do Prolog as my first language without any prior knowledge about logic and related stuff. It was a nightmare.

>needing a computer
lol i just run simulations in my head

quads confirm

10 cls
20 print "Hrk..Agh.. It..It hurts..."
30 print "Oh, it's YOU that's causing my suffering!"
40 print "Then if i tear you to pieces, the pain will stop!"
50 input "witty retort";wt$
60 g=int(rnd(1)*3)
70 if g=0 then print "BURN TO THE GROUND!";
80 if g=1 then print "BUURN!";
90 if g=2 then print "WOO!";
100 if int(rnd(1)*100)=42 then print "triformation!";
110 goto 60

I'm successfully running my own business selling software written in c#and earn more than I could have ever earned being employed. Can't see how I'm a brainlet desu

the fact that you are equating monetary gain to how good a language is makes you a brainlet (even if using c# doesn't)

Think again.

I wish OP enlightened us all with some of his code.

I could have written my software in C# as well, wouldn't have made any difference btw. I've played around with F# a million times and I can't see how it's any more difficult than c#.. It's just a different paradigm.

*F#..

>tfw your language is more python than ml

>toy/meme languages
Anything with a small community (if you have any non trivial problem, you're on your own) and little software support (you'll get a semi-functional plugin at most), used mostly for fizzbuzz and similar, e.g. Prolog, Haskell etc.
>usable professional language
Anything else.
You're more likely to get a decent (i.e. not fizzbuzz) project done in fucking PHP than in Haskell.

>elder god tier
Assembly

If you don't know how to work with it then you might just want to kill yourself.

waste of quads

yes wastes hours of time accomplishing what an assembler does, hmm.

>no GPU-enabled APL
you need one higher category

My main language is one of the Ultra Brainlet languages and I make seven figure. Guess which one.

JS?

What kind of software do you sell?
I did a bit of research and it seems hard to run a one-man software business.

My uncle who works at Nintendo makes 8 figures writing Visual Basic

not him, but in my experience, having a good way to make sure people cant crack or copy it is a good start. an airtight license key system for sure.

Acconting software for very small companies. Everything's done by myself.
I'm not dealing with piracy at all, the vast majority of my customers are tech illiterate normans.

>how to spot a brainlet
Did you ever take a look at the absolute shit code an assembler does?

>a proprietary blackbox meme-program for undergrauate engineers is a real language, guys!

>What is prototyping? What is modelling systems?

Kill yourself code monkey.

You can say brainlet all you want but most JS devs get paid more than anyone in the non brainlet tier

The ultimate non-brainlet language is C++.

It's clearly dominating the Google Code Jam coding contest:
go-hero.net/jam/17/round/4

And it's also dominating the International Contest for Functional Programming:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICFP_Programming_Contest

Which, quite frankly, is pretty embarrassing because that contest was created to show how functional programming languages are superior. OCaml and Haskell did well in that contest, but C++ actually won more often...

Other non-brainlet languages:

* FORTRAN (used by actual rocket scientists)
* C (it's basically playing programming in Nightmare Mode)

Ultra-brainlet languages:

* Ruby
* JavaScript
* Python

Holy shit, why would they torture you to do that? What was their endgame to teach prolog without teaching logic?

I prefer brainfuck

everyone knows Python is the real man's code

youre not doing it for them, youre doing it for the people from Jow Forums who crack it for the lulz, then if it was bad enough itl be a winrar

It isn't just "a" language, it THE ascended language, except if you want to handle strings, I would rather kill myself then handling strings ever again in Matlab.

Can you do a one line fizzbuzz in your language without using loops?
Yeah, that's what I guessed.

Does that sound like FOSS to you?

MSWLOGO

>Does that sound like FOSS to you?
No, but that doesn't matter.

Although I agree with the list, That's hardly a measure of someone's intellectual capacity. Like for example, The guy who writes complex GAN's in python is obviously smarter than the guy who writes recursive fibonacci in haskell.

>a single obscure repo with less than 50 stars and last commit 3 months ago proves that it's not a meme language
You got me there.

Started in the wrong semester and had to learn either Prolog or a LISP dialect. The guy who teached the latter constantly compared everything to Java and didn't explain anything else so I chose Prolog since it didn't seem that hard in the beginning.

Nice get.

But I can confirm that you are a homosexual.

literally what I had to do in school

Visual programming languages are the true patrician choice.
LMAOing at all of the blocklets in this thread, while you are "typing" shit in your text editors I'm raising virtual empires by merely clicking around the screen.
