Web Browsers

So what's the best web browser to use in terms of privacy without using TOR?

Firefox. Add Cookie Auto Delete, uBlock Origin, and set it to never remember logins or history. Turn off telemetry.

This mostly seems like a closing-your-browser-if the-fbi-comes-knocking defense than actual privacy.
>Turn off telemetry.
whoa helpful post

(Not OP; I was the lazy shitpost first reply)

lol yeah i have firefox with ublock origin, privacy badger and HTTPS everywhere. not that im worried about the fbi, but i hate the thought of the nsa or something actually spying on me

>delete cookies

falkon. This is not up for debate.

>privacy badger

As a fairly ignorant tech user, if I install this will it "just werk" and make my experience better for myself behind the scenes?

Also on the HTTPS everywhere addon, I thought I saw a thread on that once where it was compared with another addon like it. There was a lot of talk of one of them only changing the "http" to "https", which might break pages. But the other was dismissed hard by many as being bloat. Which one of them is this, and is it the better one? I have no context for either being good, but I want an "it just werks" something to install if possible.

Oh no! All of that can be disabled, either through GUI or in about:config!! What am I gonna do?!?

Wait are you implying this is a list of about:config things to change? Why the violent reaction to it? If it's a valid source it's extremely useful and not propaganda at all.

an older version of firefox that you fork yourself, with addons youve written

2 of the issues literally says it can not be disabled lol

This is barely helpful.
If you want a good source for Firefox tweaks you should go to privacytools.io

the 9000 forks of chromium that do the same thing: browse the internet well

fireshit's been dead for years give it up

Cheers.

Anyone with a good low resources manager ?

any when you turn off cookies, JS and some CSS features

Add AdNauseum and your good.

Firefox, check privacytools.io under privacy settings for firefox.

VPN, cookie auto delete, ublock and random agent spoofer are enough to stop cross site tracking. Which is the primary concern when avoiding having an "ad-profile" created.
Also when ordering from webshops, use throwaway emails. Often enough their DBs get sold off when they go under or a bigger party like amazon takes over the business.

Doing even more to stop browser fingerprinting can't hurt either.

Chromium

bpfp

You shouldn't be accessing any "" website in the first place.
Use https everywhere and check the "block all unencrypted connections" box for extra security.
Yes, it will refuse connetion to any http:// site, but you can still access it through some free web proxy.
Stay away from fucking http:// !

Waterfox.

>don't use http://
How am I supposed to go to my router settings then?

I wish the addons I need require to comfortably use firefox didn't require all of my data

GNU Icecat with ublock origin, umatrix, decentraleyes, etc.

>IceCat
botnet

I just read up about that and it seems like a good idea, but I'm worried it'll take up a lot of memory?

It's a retarded idea. Just wastes your system resources for something that gets detected in less than a few minutes, while risking infecting your computer.

You add an exception for router's address or simply use another browser for this.
It's always a good idea to use multiple browsers with different user agents, different ublockO settings, different window size etc.

I'm gonna need some sauce on this

>Tries to not be spied on.
>Downloads a bunch of identifying ad-ons

i will keep using this. its the last good version.

No, Links

its on gentoo so i can use external programs that are updated instead of the old built in versions. usually the worst exploits are in something like ffmpeg or the image libraries.
