I tucked it behind a bookcase. Long story short, it doesn't fit because of the gigantic cooler on my Xeon. (yes, that's a Xeon X5450 pictured in there)

I had one, some old glossy HP 26" thing. Nice colors. The backlight died. I replaced it with an ancient Dell 4:3 thing because I had it lying around. Then that died. I haven't bothered to replace it with anything and now that arm holds the curtain back when I open the window behind it.

62*C was the maximum I noticed with Speccy, and 55 idle, but that's to be expected given how much space is in the case, and also it's a 120W TDP chip.

So long as you have decent back support and can stretch your legs out it's pretty fine.
I actually found a lot of my back pain went away because I sit back more than when I'm in a full seat, but that's just me.

Anyone have any recommendations for a relatively cheap UHD monitor? The only must haves are that it's vesa compatible and black bezels.

The lg 27uk600 is great if you're looking for a 27" monitor. It's hdr too. It has slight light bleed problem around the edges on dark scenes but most monitors have that anyway.

No problem, I own it. The colors out of the box are incredibly accurate and the ms speed is 5, so it's good enough for gaming with no obvious motion blur. The only problem is that it's 60hz, if that's a problem for you.

How are those phones? I was thinking of buying a pair off Massdrop but I've been reading that they have really anemic bass.

60 isn't a problem at all. I've never really used a monitor that surpasses 60 anyways. Plus, I don't think I'll be pushing more than 60 frames through a 4k display any time soon.

These also look nice. I'll try to see what the prices are comparably in a few weeks when I get the cash in hand.

I really like them. They're definitely light on the bass side, but an EQ might help you out on that front. I went looking for a different tube to swap with the stock one in my amp when I got these to fix the issue and I think it turned out nicely. For $170 I'm happy with them. Especially for planars.

For the kind of games I'm playing like wow, witcher, skyrim etc. 100hz and uw is really great. If I were to play something like lol or dota, I'd go for a 144hz monitor.
