Now seriously, tablets are great for reading pdfs and browsing the internet. Just because you don't need it or like it doesn't mean it's useless. DV8P can easily work for 10+ hours while being smaller than A5 paper notebook. It's a very neat device if you do productive work. Not to mention watching movies on this thing.

I find like going back to the XP era when your best option to solve windows problems was reinstalling the OS.
I've been using and updating 10 so long but had to completely reinstall the OS several times in order to pass over some problems I haven't been able to solve through troubleshooting guidance from the internet...
For instace, it was working just fine two weeks ago and now I can't see my mail in the native mail app and some update is continuously asking for restart but it doesn't get installed and I've tried everything already.
Fuck this shit already.

I'm a full time linux user since 2005. Windows 2000 was the last version of windows I personally used. I got a laptop a couple of weeks ago and it came with windows 10 so I tried it out for a while to see what it's like.

Windows 10 is a huge heap of shit. It's big, fat, slow, ugly, it sends ridiculous amounts of data back to microsoft, you have to edit the registry to turn off fucking Cortana...

and it's unstable as well. I put up with it for a few days until the laptop started getting really hot, it turned out 'Antimalware Service Executable' was hung and taking 100% of the CPU. And no matter what I tried, there was nothing I could do to kill the task or disable the antimalware service / windows defender / whatever the fuck it is. I'm done with it now, gonna install Debian as I planned when I bought the laptop.

I have to say win 10 runs like charm and isn't annoying at all after changing some setting via win10privacy.

What ticks me off though is that I can't seem to kill the cortana process entirely and there are sometimes a few windows processes running that I don't know what they do or how to kill them like "Microsoft.Photos.exe"

But I've been using it since the release candidates were put out and I only just reinstalled it like a couple months ago for a fresh copy.

More control means that you won't have the problem killing cortana. There is no cortana. You'll be able to uninstall any application that you don't need. Or choose not to install it in the first place.

since last update my license is broke. i downloaded kmspico and uninstalled first, then installed with admin. windows detects a virus and auto deletes the file/stops the installation of kmspico. what the fuck can i do? I have no anti virus and windows defender threat protection is set to off.

I use Win7 because it's compatible with 100% of my peripherals and just werks.
Tried 8 and 8.1 both where alright but would run into occasional bugs, probably because my audio interface doesnt have official drivers (inb4 get a new interface), not touching win10 with a 10ft pole thou, a few PCs in my workplace have it and it's a shitshow. With every update it loses connection with the network printer and have to reinstall the whole driver bundle.
