yeah fuck that

tricorders when

Well, I'm not planning to regularly dip it into water. Just want some rain protection and the 5M looks like it covers most pools people can push you into.

iPhones are more water resistant than those because they are built for anal insertion.

so I'm guessing it's $1000 at least?

catphones.com/en_gb/cat-s61-smartphone.html
>£799.99

>cheap ass chink phone with a tractor company logo on it
>$1000
Not even iTards would be so stupid as to buy this overpriced trash. Good thing there are millions of low IQ construction workers Cat can rip off.

>the weak should fear the strong
>only 5m water resistant
>s9+ can casually dip down to 20m for half an hour without taking any damage
Who's the weak one here again?

>35 hours talk time
>microsd
>ip68 rated, waterproof in 3m of water for 60 minutes
>drop test up to 1.8m
>thermal imaging camera
>laser measurement
>air quality sensor
>overpriced trash
itoddlers in maximum damage control mode

>know they're stupid gimmick phones for gormless jobsworths
>kind of want an s41 anyway because 5Ah battery makes me moist

Send help lads

>SCAT phone
That's the hot shit right there. How hot? Find out with SCAT phone camera!

To be honest the only really stand out thing it brings to the table is the huge ass battery.
Thermal Imaging, Laser measurement, and Air Quality sensor are gimmicks at best, if you regularly use them in your profession you have dedicated tools for them that are a hundred times as precise as anything this phone could ever offer.
As far as durability goes the only thing it actually has going for it is its rugged shell. Literally all flagships do drop tests of up to 2m and the vast majority have a good waterproof rating, ip68 isn't even anything particularly special.

The thermal camera is bullshit quality. S41 is way to go.

Aren't you retarded.
S9+ is only rated to 1.5m up to 30min, that doesn't mean it can't handle more than that its just the maximum there willing to guarantee.
The S60 and S61 are rated 5m and 3m respectively both for up to 60min so both should do better than the S9+

>SD630
Lol

Whats next? a phone that has built in radar/sonar?

jesus christ

>Thermal Imaging, Laser measurement, and Air Quality
Not in the construction business.
Thermal for instance is really effective for detecting shorted wiring, air quality could probably run passively to warn for gas leaks.

The S9/+ has the exact same rating as this CAT phone, IP68.
It literally does not matter what kind of shit they advertise, that's their rating.
What they can actually do is a different story altogether though, I don't know just how much the CAT phone can take, but there's a shitload of tests of the S9+ being thrown into lakes with more than 20m depth and still coming out untouched, it's pretty fucking resilient.

If you don't have biceps and a hardhat you don't deserve this phone. Sorry dweebs.

5m water resistant refers to a rating, not actual 5 meter deep water, look for charts and the real meaning about 5m 10m 100m 200m and 300m water resistant. 5 meter water resist should be light rain, water drops, of course not pushing any button under water like something with 300m would do fine.

>s41
They look pretty rugged. If they are as rugged as they look I want one. Can I root and install LineageOS on it?

>throw S9+ into the sea
>it touches a stone at the sea bed
>front and back completely shatter immediately, water fucking everywhere

I blame Flir more than CAT for bad thermal camera. If Flir didn't have such a strangle hold on the market we could have decent thermal cameras for a fair price that you could stick in a smartphone without it being over 1k. as it stands right now if you want a flir camera for your smartphone that is $200

Just what you upskirting perverts need. Thermal cams!

Doesn't make the cam better in any way, but the situation is equally fucked with the S-Pen. Samsung straight up bought wacom so nobody except samsung can sell phones with a decent stylus.
>inb4 stylus a shit

Theres no reason why FLIR couldn't make an updated much higher res Lepton module. Its just lack of competition keeping them as the number one supplier.

I can smell the virginity on people who have CAT phone cases.
Just don't drop your fucking phone, and even if you do who cares

>Just don't drop your fucking phone
Easy to say when you never leave your basement

>Just don't drop your fucking phone, and even if you do who cares
I can almost smell the 1 digit IQ on this one

I was mostly memeing to be honest but I don't think the ir camera is much of a gimmick, there have been terrible attachments to phones to add ir cameras before but they've been expensive ($4-500+) and by virtue of being an attachment they're usually terrible so having the camera built into a relatively inexpensive phone is a fairly decent feature for people who were in the market for a rugged phone with a big battery anyway, and for some reference the cheaper dedicated hand held ir cameras are usually $750, to have one that can fit in your pocket is pretty neat

ir cameras are really decent for any sort of technical troubleshooting a problem, hot shit is probably what's causing issues

certification for ip68 and above depends on the agreement with the manufacturer, it can be for 1m or deeper for 30 minutes or longer but is usually around 3m, this is why the s60 and s61 are both ip68 certified but they're waterproof to 5m and 3m for an hour respectively

>5m water resistant refers to a rating, not actual 5 meter deep water
'water resistant' means that but ip certification requires an immersion test under conditions laid out by the manufacturer, cat are saying it's waterproof in 5m of water for an hour, if it doesn't meet this it fails ip certification and you are almost certainly going to win your small claims court case for false advertising

Yes, but you have dedicated equipment for that...

you may not always have your tools on you

Please be joking

>hot shit is probably what's causing issues
With the exception of gas leaks, then it's cold.
Unless it gets hot hot hot. But then you don't need a camera to notice it.

the best camera is the one that you always have on you :^)

same thing applies to the cat phone, you're not always going to be lugging your thermal camera and air quality tools around

>Battery: Non-removable Lithium Ion
dogshit

>he doesn't occasionally forget a tool or toolbox at home
nobody wants to carry around their full van of tools especially if they don't need everything including the kitchen sink

>mfw people can't hold onto phones
i have never used a case on any of my phones and I've never had a cracked screen. Of course, I've also had a Galaxy Nexus, Moto X 2013, and now a Blackberry Classic. Fairly rugged builds for the most part.

You have also never left your basement, so your experiences are hardly relevant.

Nah, I'm not the guy the two posters I quoted responded to. I have a full time job and leave the house quite a bit. Hell, was just at an amusement park yesterday.

nice rebuttal though, gonna save that in the /home/seth/documents/epic_rebuttals directory

>drop test up to 1.8m
So if I drop it while I'm talking it's going to break? lmfao 1000$ brickphone

tfw normies will use these to spy other people through walls in my lifetime

Attached: haram.jpg (531x471, 49K)

>look at me, normal human! i leave my domicile and partake in various amusements, just like you!

Whatever you say, trog.

>>water
>>"resistant"
>>yeah fuck that
kill yourself if you think you know anything after watching some retarded youtube videos
my m4 aqua and xz premium have seen more water than you mom got bukakke'd and they are still fine

that cat phone should be even more water resistant

if i don't leave the house the suicidal thoughts get worse.

roller coasters force an emotion out of me, good or bad.

job necessary for money to pay for my empty house i mortgaged.

Unless you work something that needs Thermal Imaging all the time that is pretty fucking useless and at that point you may as well buy a dedicated Thermal Imaging tool just for it.

>blue collar phone
>800 bux

>Can I do anything with my phone?
I don't know, have you asked your manufacturer overlord who you're renting it from?

noice. your catchphrase can be used to question any smartphone in existence
>camera?
>storage?

>ebook reader?
>voice recorder?
>flashlight?
>note taking?
>navigation?
>mirror?
>Uhm... Yes sweetie... but you have dedicated equipment for that...

>Cat shills now in maximum damage control mode
Only a retarded construction worker would use chink shit phone for those uses. Professionals use dedicated tools. You'd have to be a fool to blow a $1000 on this peice of shit phone when the same tools of higher quality could be purchased for much much less. Shill this peice of cat shit phone all you want. Its still a peice of cat shit.

>I'll replace instruments with tech worth ten thousands with my fone sensores totally the same as a bunch of $10 gadgets

contrasts are shit because the glass protection
weights a lot because the protective case

but feels good that you could use it as a hammer. literally kek

>Reverse notch
really made me think

Logical reasons why screens should be rectangular
>photos are rectangular
>movies are rectangular
>websites are rectangular
>blocks of text are rectangular
Logical reasons why phone bodies should be rectangular
>to fit rectangular screen

Suddenly screen-to-body ratio bullshit explodes and it's BODY 1 : 0 SCREEN

lol at the bad photoshop

You have really huge lacks in basic logic and reading comprehension.
Are you by any chance a women?

It's not like this is more than the global average male height

If you're mostly taking a cursory look at things then bringing all that expensive equipment isn't going to be practical. It's like a Swiss Army Knife that can do most things acceptably in most cases where you thought you didn't need a certain tool at the moment but, as it turns out, you did.

Can it act as a power bank?

Attached: Screenshot_20180624-205004.png (436x229, 117K)

I don't need an expensive thermal camera that can accurately measure temperature if all I need is a simple visual guide to search for a heat source.

>a women

Attached: 1529865856624.png (211x239, 11K)

I would like a simple CO2 meter in my phone just to warn me to open my office window in time.

I think dedicated units are quite expensive because they sell very few.

>replace
who are you quoting?

>an grammer
>lol rekt

>waterproof in 3m of water for 60 minutes
Does it melt after 60 mins?

if i put "iphone anal insertion" into pornhub search, how many results will i get ?

It downs

and instantly no software updates

You can get a decent meter for that kind of use new for $100 or less if used. Blowing a grand on a phone that wont be near the same quality of CO2 meter is retarded.

Stop fucking posting images of my cat

>that wont be near the same quality of CO2 meter
you seem so sure of yourself

>a shitty sensor in an overpriced chink shit phone with a tractor company logo on it will out perform a dedicated high quality device
Your retarded, a Cat shill or both.

Yes.

why would you need thermal sensors and moisture level detection in your phone?

If you have to ask such stupid question, then answer for you is: To take a pictures of your wet farts.
I still don't know why would anyone put two cameras or a fucking DAC on the smartphone, yet they're doing it. I'd rather get those sensors instead.

you really seem sure of yourself but you're trying to hide the fact that you have no idea at all how they perform

EXIF data for the juiciest BRAPPs

Do you always hold your phone on face level?

What, do you stoop down and crouch every time you get a call?

who even uses phones for calls?

People with jobs.

Oh right

So nobody from apple

Attached: 1523789948803.jpg (1280x720, 75K)

I didn't mean I would buy this phone.

I meant it would be nice if every phone has a CO2 meter standard.
And maybe some other air sensors as well, like humidity and air pressure/altitude (my bicycle computer has the latter and makes recording hill climbs very accurate).
Unfortunately we'll have to wait until Apple decided to include it then next year everybody will.

This makes the peepee grow.

>people through walls
You can't see through walls with termal

Rule 34.
If it exists, there is porn of it.

A friend has this phone. It's really nice and the addition of the flir sensor alone makes it worth your money. if you use a flir on a regular basis that is

>putting pressure on the port by having the phone at that angle

Attached: yelling peridot.jpg (720x720, 20K)

Also pressure on the backplate by only supporting the phone at the bottom and the edge of the wood thing.

more phone should integrate thermal imaging, great for finding leaks in the house

>laser measurement
I bought one on Ebay for like $30, super cool tool

you can if the wall is uninsulated

No u

how much did you pay for it ?
