Okay?
I use bomi on windows
Pretty much same thing

Vulkan rev3 when?

>bomi
wew, finally a GUI

Can you still use mpv.conf and input.conf and add userscripts?

fuck if I know lol
I only use it on windows because I am currently stuck with windows for the time being
I'm a linux fag who uses stock mpv when he can, just anything without a serious gui on windows is fucking terrible to deal with

Bomi is dead and it also made significant changes to mpv and is essentially a fork; not a frontend.

cool
it works for me, for now

fine, lift me up only to crush my hopes

If you can't use those than it is not pretty much the same. I also use windows but don't need a frontend. Works great for me.

Just use mpc-qt if you want muh gui. It properly uses libmpv.

cool
don't care, bud

>mpc-qt
not compiling for an ugly gui

mpc had problem with audio last time i tried it

No, definitely not the same. Less functionality.

I'm sure you don't

at least vlc has playback history so you can start the right episode

It seems madvr is the new Jow Forums and /a/ video renderer. :(
lysandria1985.blogspot.com/2013/01/3-madvr.html

how to call mp.commandv so that it won't show any message in osd?
mp.commandv('no-osd', ...) doesn't work
mpv.io/manual/master/#input-command-prefixes

Why haasn doesn't want to add MRT support, igv? Is MRT- FSRCNNX really better than without it?

Yes, it's wordpress stupid permanent link.
The post was updated yesterday.

*blogspot

>720p
>random shitrips

just end it now, user

Well I can't read that chinese shit.

There are tons of online translation services...

I was checking which release was best for my needs...

What is a good setting for video options?
There seems to be no difference between them

profile=gpu-hq

Anything else is autism territory.

currently not using profile but
vo=gpu
gpu-api=opengl
are these meme tier as well?

profile=gpu-hq
video-sync=display-resample
Alternatively, you could also add interpolation and a tscale algo if you like the soap opera effect. You might also want to try different gpu APIs.

>soap opera effect
Don't spread misinformation. mpv's interpolation does nothing like this.

It doesnt look natural to me when watching live action movies. Maybe it does for you cartoons.

Regardless, mpv's interpolation is a frame blending approach. It does not makeup frames or artificially increase frame rates.
github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/Interpolation

I know all of this. It doesn't change the way I and others see it. It's not for everyone.

How the HECK do I stop it from showing cache in the OSD?

how can mpv be called having good video fidelity if superimposes stuff like controls on the video it plays

baka lol

???

>not cccp + mpc, madvr

osd in way of video u supposed to be watching unobstructed

bad design

when?

Dafuq are you on about. The OSD only shows up when your cursor is close to it. It doesn't even show up when you start a video.

see like in op pic

how crazy to see tracking, play, etc buttons coming from tv station or movie theatre

should isolate gui controls from video display unless opt-in

should be opt-in, default should be somewhere not on top of video for program designed to show video best as possible

then use a real gui or none, it's only there for minor convenience
also I don't think OP's is stock

is inconvenient

>oh little mouse move by accident
>covers video ppl trying to enjoy with crap

no-border
no-osd-bar
no-osc
cursor-autohide-fs-only
cursor-autohide=always

You're complaining about things that can be fixed.
>disable osc
>make the osc smaller
>lower the trigger area
>lower the timeout
>use a gui

But you're the autistic troll who lurks every thread and none of this will be good enough.

dunno if this is the right thread, but this is video player-related, so I'll try, sorry if I'm off-topic
do you guys know about acestream, if yes do you use it/what do you think about it?
I've begun watching streams of the world cup on it and the stream/service quality is very strong, however I've seen some people claiming they got malwares on windows and such

Oh no!

Attached: gto.webm (692x566, 2.16M)

good that it has those options

much better than what can be said about many other popular video players

unfortunately default setting clashes with high video fidelity philosphy

user interface is number one priority but here is implemented not in the best way

however u try to downplay it its bad design philisophy, unnecessary, and diminishes the performace of what the program is designed to do which is play video with best fidelity as possible

>user interface is number one priority but here is implemented not in the best way
it's not supposed to have a UI

Attached: 2018-06-24_18-24-54.webm (698x636, 2.68M)

what crap

if gui needs to autohide then should just pop under video if enough room affecting nothing else

that's not autohide, that's me toggling the gui entirely

?
has hotkeys and cli
then probably smplayer been that way always
crap

But wait, I'm one step ahead of you. using --no-osc and smplayer's option to use a dedicated mpv window anyway so you get a completely detached GUI.

Attached: out.webm (666x660, 2.3M)

Didn't some user made it so the osc was always visible below the video area? IIRC he added a black bar the size of the osc using a filter .

Who the fuck even cares. Just don't move the mouse while you're watching something.

is that a challenge?

much better

imo mpv would be much improved if gui was like that

default should be hotkey toggle and connected to bottom/top of window seamlessly

on side vertically oriented optional, hotkey

detached gui opt-in

mpv good programmers just make the change

But doesn't that mean you need to watch your things windowed?

Can i get a quick rundown on mpv? Why is it better than vlc?

can still use mpv as normal with hotkeys and yadda yadda

and make all osd info outside of video similarly by default

bump

hence why osd/gui should be hotkey in that config

i mean hotkey toggle on/off

actually, this seem to be a bug, doesn't work even via input.conf (pic related)
x no-osd script-message osc-visibility always

Attached: 1511616284887.png (960x540, 624K)

mp.commandv("script-message", "osc-visibility", "never", "no-osd")

Attached: 1504882148396.png (959x604, 650K)

works on my machine

Attached: -=.webm (1280x720, 502K)

weird, last git release?

Nevermind, I'm fucking retarded. It was another a call from another script... Now everything works.
Thanks for helping me to get there, user. Before yours post I was sure it just didn't work correctly.

why madshi believe more capable on windows lol

will not buy

for some reason i found myself using mpv to download charturbate streams.

i even made a little bash script to select the quality with rofi and set the filename with the handle and time stamp.

bump for best video player

bump for worst video player

Windows has this at least if you right click it.

Recently started using this, though I miss being able to see history of what I've watched when I right click the icon from when I used mpc/kcp.

Also screenshotting too.

Is there any ways to customize or anything you guys do to enhance your MPV experience.

t. mpv novice

Also to add, continuing from last stopped at when re opening, this shit was cash. Pls help

So from all the video players why is mpv the most shilled one on Jow Forums?

>inb4 it can't be shilled cuz it's free

press shift+q and it saves your place

Thanks man!

Why is it better than VLC?

Attached: gondola confused.jpg (307x462, 15K)

add save-position-on-quit to mpv.conf alternatively and it'll save the position automatically on exit.

scriptable

Why on earth would you need a script on a media player?

Attached: pastedImage (45).png (694x632, 191K)

Oh damn, that's awesome, thanks dude

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/User-Scripts#lua-scripts
Depend on you needs. If you like to post webms its great.

ok, thanks

...

Ah damn I don't have a config file.

>press s to take a screenshot that includes the subtitles in the image and saves the image as the native resolution of the video
>press shift+s to take a screenshot without subtitles, but at native resolution
>press ctrl+s to take a screenshot of the player as is with no modifications

my.mixtape.moe/arkrcg.zip
type in %appdata% in your file explorer and then paste the mpv folder inside the zip file there. then open the mpv.conf file with a notepad (or notepad++ if you have that).

>Is there any ways to customize or anything you guys do to enhance your MPV experience.
It's a bit hard to answer this because unlike other media players mpv stands of from the crowd because of how ridiculously flexible it can be. Honestly, if you can think of it mpv can probably do it in one way or another.
I'm out right now so I can't really do a write up but check out the User Scripts section on Github, some notable scripts are: Thumbnails, webm maker, autoprofiles, mine sweeper

how do i install mpv with gui (like on windows) on my debian 9 system? i tried the .deb package from deb-multimedia but installation fails due to unobtainable dependencies.
