Right now I'm on a MBPr 2014, (4 years old)

But my x200 is shipping this week. (10 years old)

I got a MBPr 2012.
I've got no need or want to change, but when I need a new one, I'll probably go with something that can take Coreboot or libreboot. Most likely a Librem.

i7-870

Days old, mfg 6-16 of the current year

Also got tierd of apple shit ?

This last vecation I tryied to install Manjaro on this machine. Fuking apple makes it so hard to do. I fell like I have no control of my own hardware.

Took some time but I've installed it. But now I'm going into a 100% free.

My desktops are 9 years old, but with few to several upgrades and adjustments

Attached: 2018-06-12 04.02.04.jpg (2111x3017, 3.71M)

how do you count on desktops? the oldest part or the newest part?

I'd say the age of the motherboard

CPU & mobo 2008
GPU 2015
HDD 2003, 2008
SSD 2017
PSU 2010
Displays 2012, 2016
Keyboard & mouse 2013
Speakers 2009
Headphones 2015

3 months old but GPU is a week old.

Mine turned 10 on the 15th of this month.

12 years old.

then on my main computer its 4-5 years and on my other its 8ish years

Notebook 1 1/2 year old
desktop pc about 4 years old (was think about replacing it at the start of the year but than spectre hit)
in storage the is another old desktop pc about 7 years old

I would say 2008.
How is it doing ?

6 years old.

changed GPU twice, doubled RAM, swapped case and extended storage

2 years old with specs from 6 years ago.

Considering that i only use it, apart from reading and writing, as a terminal to servers and for playing with OpenCL when the uni GPU cluster is busy, it's probably going to last until my retirement.

2012

Changed GPU, doubled its RAM, got SSD for system partition.

since 2011

5.
HP envy laptop. The only problem are the hinges

> it's probably going to last until my retirement.
How long till then ?

33 years with current laws.

I only used my computer for porn, so I just bought a wife. I'm typing from her right now, I'll have her until I'm poor.

x200 here, too.

CPU and Mobo and HDD are nearly 9 years old, i7-860 OC'd to 3.5Ghz
Everything else has been replaced at least once over the years upto bew GPU last week

A year maybe, idk.

Can't remember when I built it.

the case is 10+ years old, the inside is about 4 years old

4 years, haswell is pretty good

2013, still running a i5-3570K.

Attached: newkeeb.jpg (4000x6000, 2.78M)

My desktop's 10 years old, my laptop's 9yo, and my HTPC's 1yo

same, I've had no reason to upgrade it really, especially since I don't play vidya anymore.

5 years
got binned Bulldozer, runs 4.2 at 1.27 VCore which is pretty good, will OC to 4.5 in winter
waiting for Zen 2 to upgrade

Attached: 12312415.png (953x728, 72K)

My basement "server" meets age of consent laws in the south. My desktop is about 5 years old.

The laptop work gives me OTOH is 9 months old and costs like a used car.

I run an e5450. Cost a lot back in the day, but now they're 15 bucks a pop.

Most of my computer is from mid 2016. I have a 5820k and 64 gigs of ram.

The only things that I have added since then are a nvme 500gig ssd, and I upgraded from a 980 ti to a 1080 ti about a month ago.

For my laptop it's like 4 years old I think. I always just buy broken laptops and refurbish them. I don't like spending that much on laptops since I only use it once or twice a month. It's just a dell e6440

9 years old
>Core2Quad @ 2GHz, 8GB DDR2, Radeon HD 4650, 250GB SSD.

Runs as fast as modern machines for daily stuff.

34, 11, 7 and 6.

My pc is from 2010, i have on of those closed liquid coolersets for the cpu, recently every time i boot up my pc the pump of the set starts making a noise as if its stuck, then after a while it runs just fine.
Probably will break soon.

13 and a half years. Thirteen and a fucking half years.

>Beat that

Hi there fellow ppc user.
My desktop is a G4 MDD, so I guess that beats you by a bit.

Attached: dd3f931e-f138-4f78-929e-2444524658ca.jpg (540x720, 40K)

as long as it can run porn its still fine.

Desktop:
>2010 Precision T3500, x5570/gtx1070

>2015 MPB 13", i7-5550u

Tablet:
>2016 iPad pro 9.7, A9X

>2016 moto g5 plus, SD625

Sums up all my technology.

Take it out of is misery already.

laptop bought in 2011

Hello Fren is that your ibook ? what OS

I just recently found a stack of those at work in terrible condition. They did not age well and are all stained as fuck...ew. Dont get me started on the nighmarish house fire power plugs and wires. *shakes head* terrible terrible design choices.

yes video streaming is my cut of point too. Browsing the modern web on Lynx is not fun.

i just bought it back to life asshole !

oldest one i got is a Mac Classic from 1991

Attached: IMG_0154.jpg (2448x3264, 1.6M)

Yup, that's muh iBook. Debian unstable. Just werks.
Weird, I haven't had any of those issues on mine. Maybe they fixed the issues irln the latest models? Mine is a 1.42 14", so the last ever. The keyboard I swapped for an earlier one because it came with an ISO board and applel isn't good at making ISO layouts.
Indeed. Video playback works a treat on this guy up to low profile 720p. Pretty comfy to watch chinese cartoons and shitpost in bed.

Attached: IMG_20180625_032202.jpg (2560x1920, 873K)

2012. Still fine but I want something more capable.

Parts ranging from 2012 to 2016.

#metoo Dell Vostro 430 and it works well.

Attached: IMG_0063.jpg (3264x2448, 1.76M)

Built my gayming PC in February 2011. The newest non-cooling part is an AMD FX-8150 that was cheap on eBay, which replaced an AMD 1100T that I accidentally ruined while blackout drunk. Never do thermal paste replacement after drinking ice beer all day.

The laptop I'm on right now is from October 2016, and it's slow as shit, but good for YouTube and reading. I'd like to upgrade to a ThinkPad sometime soon.

Only the CPU and Motherboard old. The RAM price holding me to upgrade then The new Ryzen holding me back again.

Attached: 1528485868349.jpg (1116x1579, 892K)

desktop: 12 years
unix laptop: 13 years
server: 11 years
windows laptop: 6 months (a gift)
own a 386 and a 486 box, 31, 25 years. Still works perfectly

Attached: ppppowerbook.jpg (422x346, 20K)

What kind of battery life can you actually get out of a Powerbook? I've been considering getting one recently and that's something I've been wondering.

12 years now. it's a single core acer aspire. i really like the 1280x800 screen and comfy keyboard.

2012 at the newest

Attached: Untitled.png (595x554, 30K)

Technically my PC dates back to April 2011 but the only remaining original components are my PSU (Silverstone Strider Plus 600W) and CM Hyper 212+.
I'm replacing the former very soon as the fan is not sounding so healthy anymore and I figure this around the age I want to replace it anyway just to be safe. I'm looking at the Corsair RM650i, it's slightly cheaper than the Supernova G3 in my region, so it seems good. Being able to see my power consumption with link seems pretty cool, and it also it being very quiet and running passively most of the time will be much appreciated. A decade of warranty is also hard to argue with.

pretty old

Attached: macssh.jpg (1632x1224, 832K)

Still rocking a Phenom II X4 955
was made in 2009

my current PC is a 3rd gen i5 and I only upgraded to this because my job decided to throw out a completely new computer. don't know why. I don't think anyone new the difference between a P4 (they had over 10 of them) and a i5 and I didn't wanna tell them.
If I never upgraded, I would still be rocking my core2Quad from 2008.

Built it in 2014. I've only since upgraded the GPU (760 to 970) and swapped the OS disk to SSD. Apart from that, it's still just fine for 1080p stuff.

Graphic card: GeForce9400 GT

Attached: a.png (580x155, 10K)

There's a bit more, but I'm too lazy to bring it out of storage.

Attached: rigs.jpg (1920x1080, 2.05M)

6 years (bought used), and probably among the fastest I've owned.

i5-2500k since late 2010/early 2011

dude did you know the g4 powersupply is just a 2.5mm headphone jack, a resistor and 24v not many people know you can hack one up easy as fuck... a litte googling could of saved you ripping its guts out

transistor-man.com/powerbooksupply.html

kek. is that an apple ?

What kind of battery life can you actually get out of a Powerbook?

No idea my battery is toast but i am going to repack it now that i have fallen in love with the g4 again. The published was 4.5 hours new in 2005. Today with an SSD and better batery chemistry i expect more.

nice but if it aint warm it dont belong here

I have a late 90s Compaq at my parents', runs modern linux but very slowly

2015 zenbook
Other than minor battery issues, I kind of want to replace it due to being a slob and getting it physically rather dirty. Otherwise it can last another 5+ years as my main device.

5, but was cheap shit even then..

Underage, so keep your hands off her.

>saved you ripping its guts out
There's a control board for the power jack, causing some interference. This way I bypassed the board and it's 2x ground and current wire scheme, and it worked well.

mobo is from 2011, a true beast, a real friend

Attached: d98.jpg (600x640, 28K)

Did several upgrades over the years, but I am running a 4790K that I built in summer 2015 and then upgraded in 2016 with a GTX 1080 and more RAM.

I was hoping to get at least 5 years out of it, and with the way Intel has been fucking up lately and AMD catching up, I think I can hold off for a bit longer. Gaming is still fine on it and it can handle every other application/Virtual machine I use for work.

Core 2 Conroe
4gb ram
9800gtx+

I gots me a:
>4930K oc 4.7 Ghz with Black Rock cooler
>32 Gb G.Skill Ram 2133 Mhz
>Asus IV Black Edition mobo
>12 Tb in hdd
>Seasonic 850W Titanium efficient 12 year warrany PSU
>GTX 1060 FUG...
>all this in a dark base 900 be quiet case

my "primary workstation" daily driver gnu slash battlestation is a pentium D from 2006 i found on the side of a road

jesus christ the electricity you could of saved saved could of bought you something decent over all those years

would ask you for a picture but i doubt you own a digital camera

not when you compute the risk cost of buying something only to have it die a few months later

inb4: RMA, yeah but i got this for $0.00, which is a cost savings of ERR:UNDEFINED

Two months and its already shit

About 8 years

Attached: speccy.png (634x446, 27K)

i5-3570k also checking in, just bought a 120gb ssd and a 2tb hdd after my 1tb drive was slow as shit and found a bad block on it.

Could HAVE

2012 Touchsmart 320, with a first generation Llano APU. 6 years old and runs better than when I bought it.

MBP 2012, non retina here. Works fine.

Also have an Asus EeePC from 2008 or so running FreeBSD.

dem case badges

hnnnngggggggggg

My oldest running? This right here.

Attached: IMG_20180527_181943_251.jpg (960x1280, 80K)

Not sure. I've been using it for years but I'm not certain when I got it. Some of the parts might originate from an earlier computer of mine. Here are the specs

Attached: speccy.png (661x526, 36K)

>REEEEEEPC
DUDE WEED LMAO

This is the oldest thing plugged in to my PC right now.

My town had two governments: a town government and a "village" government. There were two separate police departments and other separate institutions. Eventually, as you might expect from a small squat of a town, we dissolved our village. The former village police department merged with the town police department but had to get rid of some of its shitty equipment. They gave my dad their own financial server. It was a beast to carry and sounds like a jet taking off when you turn it on. It runs "Windows Server 2003 for Small Business". It had USB but only 1.0. Very slow transfer speeds. It has something like 512MB of RAM, I think. It has also a couple of 40GB harddrives in RAID. Cannot remember which raid configuration. I would check myself but right now it is in storage with a lot of shit piled on top of it.

christmas 2013 custom build. I5 4670k, 8gb (free upgrade to 16gb about a month ago), r9 290, 500gb crucial mx300 (i think) SSD.

I have an Amiga 500 and other older computers (not older than the a500 though) but that's my main pc

i use this as a server

Attached: open.jpg (450x520, 66K)

those shitty plastic laptops were not meant to last this long. apple really tried to do all they could to make them break in few years.
