Any faggots out there still stuck with internet that's slower than 7mbps lol.

I've had 100,400, and now 1.5gbps the past few years. But I remember having 1.5 back in like 2007. How painful is it being that slow in 2018?

Tfw 15 mbps

i remember having 28.8 -> 36.x dialup

I actually just upgraded from 6mbps, if you can really call this shit an upgrade

1 mbps here down from someone else's 10
i don't mind slow speeds, i can stream 480p stuff quite comfortably
though i don't use any botnets that keep hogging the tubes

I can get nearly 2mbps if i'm lucky if I mess about with the snr settings on my router.

welfare internet from isp, $10USD/mo for 16 down 2 up
little restrictive but I'm a patient man

tfw 3 mbps

hoping starlink doesnt turn out to be a meme

I have 1 gbits but I don't think anything will ever compare to going from 56K to 2 mbits

I have 25mbps ;-;

> tfw australian

I typically get around 800kbps. I have to check the filesize under each image and determine whether it is worth attempting to load or just view the thumbnail.

Horrible. It can take 30 seconds to load websites, you can't watch Youtube and have to predownload everything. Downloads take forever, hours and days. Downloading GTA V almost took a week 24/7 ontime, when you try to browse it gets even slower.

Thats how it feels to live in a 3rd world country. Its called Germanistan and they charge you 40 € for DSL 2000, 2.3 down 1.9 up.

I now pay the same for part-time internet with at least 3 disconnects per day included in the contract. You get "up to 16 Mbits", which you receive sometimes at 4 am when youre lucky, then it gets down to 2-3 mbits in the evening when you watch videos. dsl+lte hybrid

I'm at 12mbps at home. I live in the rural South.

>36.x dialup
you mean 33.6

Oh yes, its night. They can't tell me its not possible to deliver.

Its best when I sleep the whole day until 9 pm, then slowly wake up with the internet waking upthen as well. After 6am it decreases by 1 mbit every hour until the downpeak is reached in the evening. same cycle every day.

I don't see the need for more than 10 mbps, although i'm at 60 mbps, 120 with ethernet.

This used to be me. Then I went to college and now I get 80mbps

>Lincoln, NE

What happens here?

Yeah, it's been almost 20 years, can't remember the speed

20-40 down is good enough for most normies depending on what they're consuming, scaling up as needed (i.e. 50GB+ games and wanting to play them before your death), but the typically fraction of upload speed is where people usually feel their speed limits.
Me personally uploading a 3MB webm to Jow Forums on a 2mbps is so painful.

Currently on a 14mbps down / 2mbps up business package. Get full speed 24/7.

Hell of a lot better than BT's shitty FTTC offering which synced at 65mbps down / 20mbps up. Network was so congested at peak times, I'd be lucky to get 5mbps down. Packet loss was also awful.

i live in a spic shithole and even here we have 50/5 mbps to 300/20 mbps speed as base, hell i got the cheapest one (50/5mbps) for something like usd 20/month and the closest town with 80k+ population is like 800km from here.

as proof

First internet was like Dial-up 28.8. Now I'm on 10/1 plan. Could get higher but isp's limited on bandwidth so even if I did upgrade all I'd get sustained is 10/1 rate anyway. So why bother and pay more for something I'd not get.

10/2 but it's unmetered. Not terrible for Alaska.

I use to have dial up back in the day.

you ever run a speedtest just to flex on australian niggas?

Attached: owo.png (841x345, 36K)

no

that dial up connection ring perked up my tits every time. those were the days.

same user. started from 56 dial up, 3 mbps then 25 now.

I have 60 Mbps down, but 5 Mbps upload.

It works just fine for everything I do, except accessing my home network from elsewhere is slow.

why do they provide a gimped upload speed?

I had dial up(33.6kbit/s) prior to 2005, then upgraded to some shitty private cable service until ADSL rolled out in my country In 2007.
First had 256kbit/s, then 1mbit/s in 2011, then 2mbit/s in 2014, and since last August I'm on 4mbit/s. I'm currently paying $60/month as this is the only true unlimited option here. The country is deploying FTTC systems to allow users to get much faster speeds via VDSL but it won't be for another couple of months that I can benefit from it

Quite the slow progress here given the main monopoly ISP controls all bandwidth entering the country and for any changes in its own pricing must be approved by the government

Attached: 4024459746.png (350x200, 21K)

shitty upload + NAT + dynamic IP means people consume instead of producing

Currently 10-13mbps, was stuck with a fluctuation of 27kbps-9mbps for about a month.

Paying about $40 a month for 16mbps, fuck Puerto Rico.

yeezus christ man just move to the U.S

Most people use more downlink than uplink, and so the coax cable networks were designed to allow much more down spectrum through the use of filters. There's just not much upload capacity to divide between subscribers.

Holy fuck.
How fast is your mobile data? Don't mobile plans in Europe have something like 100GB of data?

I have somewhat of a good connection.

I have 10 mpbs download and 1 mbps upload
I don't mind the download since I usually leave my pc overnight to download stuff, but the fucking upload makes me suicidal.

Just use my phone net

Unlimited data £23 a month.

yeah - im with british telecom
highest prices in europe, slowest speeds
the steampunk network (BT are still installing copper wire)
