buy stax

009 vs 007? What's the difference other than obvious tonal stuff?

Gonna sell my HD58X as soon as it gets here. All the first impressions on MD are that it feels and sounds like a Sennheiser ripoff. Fucking retards had a good HD660S frequency response but then stupid bassheads had to make them change it

>Fucking retards had a good HD660S frequency response but then stupid bassheads had to make them change it
honestly the hd58x looks like the best sennheiser to date but they aren't that great in general so who cares? also bass is the easiest place to EQ so just pull it down.

I'd like to buy ibasso IT01. How durable are they?
I don't wanna waste 100€ in IEM to see them die after a year or something.

The difference is 007s sound better and are cheaper, but have a noticable cheaper plasticy build

Budget: $150-300
Location: U.S.
Source: My computers and phone, desktop motherboard has a built in "DAC" but i've heard they aren't that great.
Size: Full sized
Either open or closed, don't really have a preference.
Would like it to be pretty comfy.
Sound Signature: Don't really know, neutral maybe.

dt880

Got some open back headphones, and a mod mic.
Due to low power from my motherboard, I have to boost the gain quite substantially. (100% volume, +30dB)
That gets my voice to a audible level, but playing some music in a discord call, my friends could hear my music playing through the mic.

Enabling "noise suppression" and "acoustic echo cancellation" cuts out a fair amount of the noise pollution, but still beyond what I consider acceptable.
vocaroo.com/i/s0LDhnXXOEsP

On top of that, enabling either one of these settings makes the microphone quality sound awful, like a wal mart gaymer headset mic.

Test with noise cancellation off

Not the best comparison, I'm aware. But it does give a general idea of the "muffle" it introduces.

I'm going to be getting a pretty basic usb audio interface in the mail before long as I believe my low volume is due to the above stated phantom power issue, but I can't see how this would help with noise pollution.

pls help.

Can anybody explain the Campfire lineup? I have a slight feeling the Orion, Jupiter, Andro are the only ones which are good

I wish I had a gf like that.

Then you wish u had a tranny gf

At this point I'm not picking

Idol trash is really cute

is the ifi nano black label any good?

hd58x=hd600
hd6xx=hd650
I sold my hd600 long ago, kinda missing it.

I think I unironically prefer closed backs to open back headphones

Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?

Attached: 1510527298832.png (1280x721, 847K)

no shame in buying stax, user

you need to stop

Never.

Please never stop

Post setup.

58X is nothing like 600. It's bassier with less and shittier treble.

*blocks your path*

Attached: HD58x.png (768x445, 41K)

HD58X sucks

Attached: 1500766238575.png (1315x762, 97K)

Purple is HD600 btw.

>anime

wish I could rent stax for couple days.

Attached: 1521298316711.jpg (1920x1080, 395K)

I can audition Stax SR009 tomorrow. I think HD600 will beat it out though.

go to a hifi shop and try it out

ShillBAF have very similar measurements between hd58X and hd660S for frequenxy response though. And the diyaudio dude basically say "if you change that foam with some stiffened felt you get hd660s".

user?

HD58X looks way bassier. I've read HD660S has good detail retrieval because of the treble (still not HD600), so hopefully the bass doesn't overpower that.
I might mod it depending on how permanent and intrusive the mod is. Not 100% sure.
Gonna be auditioning headphones tomorrow most likely.

>hifi shop
no such thing in my village.

I'll take solderdude's words over some random user in /hpg/.

What did he say about it?

>Is the HD58X Jubilee a re-issue of the old (1995) HD580 Jubilee?

>No.. it is not… it is a different headphone with a different driver and should rather be seen as an homage to the old HD580 and not as a direct replacement / re-issue.

>With some easy to perform modifications, however, it can become a more than worthy successor.

>Those expecting to find a cheap HD600, just like the HD6XX is actually a cheaper HD650 with a different paint job and cable, may be disillusioned based on their preferences and references.

>The HD58X is closer to a HD650 in tonal balance (but a bit ‘fresher’) than to the HD600.
BUT the modifications can turn it into a better extended and less bright HD600.

>BUT the modifications can turn it into a better extended and less bright HD600.
But that's no HD600.
Only HD600 is HD600.

Fair enough but the HD600 does cost a lot more than the HD58x.

>buy expensive headphones and dac/amps for music
>all your music are badly recorded and mastered

there is got to be at least one gamer with stax here. How does it image in games?

Attached: 1508217902859.jpg (1920x1080, 517K)

nice stax

Hey guys.

Attached: Stillhavethem.png (639x338, 175K)

post your argons

I've had them for 2 months now. They are pretty solid, but the cable gets tangled easily and is super stiff.

the more you post this the more you discredit yourself.

.
How so?

Attached: 001.jpg (2048x1152, 554K)

are they any good?

the longer you wait to timestamp your stax the more you look like you're crying wolf. by the time you actually decide to pony up for stax and actually have them no one will value what you think of them. you post your opinions, but no one actually cares about what you have to say.

Should I buy Jow Forums?

Buy them and post impressions here. You might have a pair of potential giant-killers in your hands

3100 is nice and all, but if you can afford it, you should be getting the 353X.

Where do you use them? Have you tried them for sport or have you ever dropped them accidentally?
I'd mostly use them in my bed and when I'm out walking or on a train. The roughest thing I'd do is to fall asleep on them, so nothing that bad. Anyways 100€ is kinda expansive for my wallet, so I wanna be sure they will not die within ~3 years.

Already writing my eulogy?
I'll keep a look out on ebay for second hand one.

What is it with Stax and pedophilia?

The poor sample size?

Attached: 1526180621838.jpg (377x351, 24K)

Using my comfy ad2000x for past couple of years. The true best Nip headphone.

so what's with everyone shilling for headphones that put you in danger ( they need over 500 volts ) and have shit tier ergonomics?

just buy a pair of Audeze® LCD™ and an ifi® iDSD™ DAC/amp and you're all set

what is this, headfi?

What's your setup like, user?

It is necessary that you cease.

It certainly isn't. And I'm not ceasing.
Also, post setup.

Stop spamming.

>you should be getting the 353X.
but why? they get loud enough with 252s, don't they?

Neat.

Attached: 1509786943884.png (1080x1920, 2.46M)

do you seriously listen to idols all day?

No.
E.g.: I'm at work, listening to In Flames.

if stax are so good how come it hasn't cured argon user's pedophilia obsession

Why would they make the 323/353 then?

Maybe pedophilia obsession is no illness.
Thus no cure.

no ur wrong

no u

you will be crushed

to sell it to clueless audiophools that always buy expensive stuff
we have a few here.

353X isn't audiophool. 252S is the same circuit gimped way down from 30 W to 4 W.

Yes. Why that's why they are grouped together as the SRS-3100 electrostatic headphone system.

HD600 cat best cat.

Even the 353X is an economic 3 stage design compared to the 4 stage 717

>is the same circuit gimped way down from 30 W to 4 W
they sound the same if everyone who heard both to be believed.
also 30w powerdraw is insanely high for not tubes.

i wanna cum on this cat's feet

DELETE THIS IMMEDEITLTY
