DRM is literally snake oil

There hasn't been a game in existence that couldn't be hacked and distributed by pirates. DRM only inconveniences and fucks over genuine buyers.

Always online

Console exclusivity

nothing new here. People that try to force those stuff are computer illiterate old men so don't expect it will change soon or later.

Launch sales matter the most. If DRM can keep the pirates at bay for a couple weeks it is likely worth it.

Also

But user, servers are being shut down constantly. Case in point, a game that could be perfectly functional, is no longer usable due to DRM

Besides, you'd have to be a complete idiot to accept the terms of a game that requires an online connection all the time.

>couple of weeks
It usually takes a few hours, tops.
>Also DRM is technology.

pirate/private servers?

There are a lot of idiots about.
Diablo 3 is one of the top selling PC games of all time with over 12 million sales and has always online DRM.

Need for Speed

It stops piracy for a while, on release, when it matters. Also, it stops most normies from pirating, making it too shaddy. They could just remove DRM after some time tho
