This thread is about the appreciation of watches, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
Was the previous thread the first /wt/ thread in 48 hours that didn't get fucked by jannies?

last thread was great thx anons

>wow this. >I'm going to commit sudoku. I always ask young girls when I meed them if they will wear watches for me so I don't accidentally start a relationship with a girl who is not horological
Yep. I didn't look through it all but it looked like there was a usually noticeable poster missing.

This. No trolls or spammers. Just people who enjoy watches.

I think windy pulled some strings and got them to stop sending us to /fa/.

Yes but this one is already off to a bad start

>buy casion F-91w as backup watch >main watch battery goes flat >switch to F-91w >have to fix the time on it first as it's fucking way out of sync >sync it perfectly to a web clock site >come back 24 hours later >casio F-91w is already almost a second out of sync
What the fuck is up with these watches, I've never had a watch before that sucks such hard dick at keeping time accurately, seeing as I only ever use it as a backup I don't care much, but it's definitely not worth all the praise it gets if each one has a variable rate of accuracy.
It's actually within the official +/-30seconds per month spec There's a youtube vid that explains how to regulate it, but it's hard to do Btw all my ultra cheap casios go for -0.3spd costantly

Pre-tag heuers are on a rise, you better get one now tb.h

The running theory here is that it is a result of an indirectly-driven second hand. In that video, I was holding the watch in the air and presumably it was moving a bit (although not much). I have another video (but not on my phone) where it is braces against a table, and the stutter is no longer an issue. So, maybe something like this. members.iinet.net.au/~fotoplot/invicta/invicta.html

ls it true that Patek Phillipe is for fucking old people?
They'll spec one however you like for $5 so long as you pay for the parts you want installed (very cheap).
Just be prepared for it to take a month+ to get to you.

What font is the date indicator on this? For me its reminiscent of an older watch, which is pretty sweet. I'm thinking about getting this soon, the Casio MTP-1302L-1AVER
Just wind it until it stops. In any reasonably modern watch (like since the 50s), you'll break the stem before you break the mainspring. "Overwinding" is a myth.

I like the middle one and the far right one. w2c?

Orient ray II vs skx007. Aesthetics aside, what is the legitimately superior timepiece?
Look for/make a stainless steel tough solar G-Shock with the module cased into a Faraday Cage, like the Milgauss. I don't know how hard to make something like this will be, but at least theorically it's really good. >batteries problem Batteries of solar watches,as Casio itself states, will last for about the lifespan of the watch itself(read in the official FAQ of Tough Solar)After the 10-15 years lifespan many speak about the battery will start losing the maximum potential capacity, but it will still work for a long time.
Oliver Price
Wait, does it actually stop? I have a watch with an nh35 movement and I go like 25 full rotations without it stopping or even getting noticeably more resistance, never have the balls to go past that.
Jordan Miller
How though? Is their in-house movement that much more superior or is the crystal and case that much more superior?
