/tb/ - Thermal Butter General

The four top-rated thermal butter brands are:
Tensan TS88
Shin Etsu X-23-7783D
Shezhen Bonyx HC-131
HUTIXI HT-WT160
But even with one of these butters, using the best brand is noy enough without the correct CPU application methodology. What is your favoured application method?

I always mix AS 5 with cum in a separate container then I pick the mix with a syringe and apply the pea method

wd40

m8 I just squirt out whatever is in the syringe I get at best buy and slap my cooler on top of it
not rocket science, quit trying to turn this shit into artisan bullshit

What was that weird thermal compound that destroyed aluminium?

I still use Arctic Cooling MX4 for all of my builds. Before that Arctic Silver 5 but its a pain in the ass to applicate.

What does it taste like?

If you need the extra heat transfer capacity of a top tier thermal paste your cooler is undersized for your application.

How so? i have both mx4 and as5 and it's the same shit with the pea method.

I'm doing virtually the same. Got some Chinesium thermal compound. It doesn't even claim to be super amazing in terms of thermal conductivity, just okay, and that seems to be accurate.

And behold! It works just fine.

If you want maximum gaymer cooling to impress your fellow overclockers and case modders that have this very thing as a hobby rather than being more focused on actually using computers, I think you might want to use liquid metal.

for me as5 had the consistency of play-do and I had to shape it with an applicator before applying the cpu cooler. MX4 was like the consistency of warm butter and the pea method worked fine.

>not just using your own cum
Pathetic.

i do like the pros at msi

X method is superior to everything.

Anything containing Gallium, You are probably thinking of "Liquid Metal."
As long as you only use copper parts I suppose its pretty good, still only a few degrees difference for the hassle of dealing with smearing liquid metal all over your parts.

Buy HC-131

warm butter?

Graphene thermal pads pretty much invalidate the existence of thermal butters

You mean the processed slices?

where the hell did you find this

P.s. Gallium works best with Aluminum heatsinks, I also uses as gasket material for my aluminum heads on my car's engine.

Personally I prefer Thermal preserves and jams over butters
but a Thermal curd is fine too

Nope. The 36 year old millennial doctor. Literally the oldest you can be and still be a millennial. Turned 18 on 1/1/00

thermal sleeves > liquid metal > thermal paste > thermal pads

prove me wrong.
proptip: you can't.
