2.2.1 was parroted as the ideal client for years and it is from a good point in the green thingy's life; just after the addition of RSS and just before ~utorrent premium~, but recently all I've heard is bad about it, security issues etc. No one elaborates though, and I've been using it for years, what's a real reason to switch away?

If you use utorrent you use 2.2.1 and below, everything after that is ridden with vunerabilities and is pretty much banned everywhere. Just use 2.2.1 or use Qbit like a normal person.
