>no automatic dependency management
ONE NOTHING WRONG WITH ME

Enjoy having your entire OS uninstalled just by removing a text editor

>Slackware, the oldest GNU/Linux distribution still in active maintenance, was released just minutes ago. Slackware is noted for being the most Unix-like of all Linux distributions. While sporting kernel 4.4.14 and GCC 5.3, other goodies include Perl 5.22.2, Python 2.7.11, Ruby 2.2.5, Subversion 1.9.4, git-2.9.0, mercurial-3.8.2, KDE 4.14.21 (KDE 4.14.3 with kdelibs-4.14.21) Xfce 4.12.1... and no systemd!
Perfect.

Enjoy having your OS set your RAM on fire
See? I can make shit up too!

Lol, here's a tissue so you can clean your tears, dear. And no, I'm not making shit up.

Why do you lie on the internet?

>using automatic dependency resolution

>manually doing what should be automated

You should try walking without aid

This. Might as well write all your code in literal machine code (not even assembly) because doing it in C would just be too easy!

you mean Devuan

I bet you let GRUB load the kernel automatically, instead of doing it manually every time.

Not manually changing the bits in the storage with a microscope and a magnet glued to a needle.

>remove software or upgrade it
>shittons of old build/runtime deps stay on your system
>eventually can't tell if removing this one piece of software will stop those build failures, fuck with a cascading list of other software, both or nothing at all since it's been untouched by anything on your system in 2 years
Be honest, now. You don't use Slackware.

Wew lad, let's party like it's 1999! With the binaries of 1999!

gentoo is still the king baby

Don't you mean Linux for Negroes?

install CRUX

>Running Linux From Scratch here
prove it to me

what statusbar are you using?

What is this meme about Arch breaking? I've used it for 2 years and it has never fucked up once.

Gentoo on the other hand is a nightmare. Oh, and compile times can suck my fucking nuts.

fbpanel

i customized the default config file, removed some stuff i dont use like the menu

Me same, it was my first distro actually.

I thought the same until about a week ago, when it finally did break itself.

>old build/runtime deps still on system after you remove the reliant program
>doesn't use the built in clean utility
Be honest, now: you don't use Slackware.

>look in the slackbuild
>has all of the deps listed with URLs to download the resources
>make a script to fetch everything and install sequentially
>or use sbopkg, or slpkg, or one of the dozen other tools that autoresolves everything in the slackbuild/info

So automatic dependency resolution is actually good now? Ok.

What about ConnochaetOS?

It's neither good nor bad, it depends on the enduser's usage and or implementation.

I personally use slackpkg+ for all base packages with alien/ktown/multilib enabled, and then GUIX for everything else.

Is Lunar Linux a meme? I'm debating between that and Slack

What the fuck is lunar Linux? Just go Slackware

Slackware has always been King.
