Look at FireFox. What the fuck is this shit? A browser claiming to fight for my privacy rights has facebook. How do you explain to someone that Google Chrome is is borderline malware and FireFox is better for their privacy, when they look like this? On top of that it wants to show me news based on my browsing habbits.
Opera is adware at this point. You pay to get your articles on user's new tab page, and that's about it.
You're retarded if you don't understand the reasoning. Each major browser needs to make money to keep such large projects going. Chrome gathers your browsing data and sells it to make money. It also "scans" computers for "malware". I dont want google scanning all my computer files. Opera also makes it impossible to disable everything. That's why they dont need to take donations. Firefox takes donations with the option to remove all telemetry. And you don't have to use the default startpage or pocket. How does this not make sense?
Bentley Ross
>Look at FireFox. What the fuck is this shit? A browser claiming to fight for my privacy rights has facebook. It lists the top sites in your country. Don't like it then it can be changed easily.
>How do you explain to someone that Google Chrome is is borderline malware and FireFox is better for their privacy, when they look like this? Chrome doesn't show any other websites on start because Google makes its money from datamining so its in their interest not to recommend Facebook.
>On top of that it wants to show me news based on my browsing habbits. Everything is done locally so there's no violation of privacy.
Mason Kelly
>It also "scans" computers for "malware". All browsers do this. And all browsers use Google's service.
I removed that completely from my FireFox install. I removed all the system addons from my Fx install actually.
Ryder Brooks
Maybe Falkon
Xavier Jackson
you use windows 10
Wyatt Edwards
Firefox has long not been privacy friendly. It's becoming increasingly obvious they'd rather sell out and focus on the mainstream, even though they offer absolutely nothing over chrome if you don't care about privacy. About:config can still fix most things but the question is for how much longer.
Caleb Martin
>Opera is adware at this point. You pay to get your articles on user's new tab page You can disable it though, along with the rest of the bloat. The unlimited VPN is the only reason I'm still using it at this point.
>Not one decent Web browser left Waterfox. It's Firefox, except it really respects your rights and privacy.
Logan Lewis
You have to go back.
Caleb Hernandez
how do you get netflix to work on it?
Carter Clark
Try Brave if you like Chrome, and Waterfox if you like Firefox.
When the mainstream platforms are corrupt and there no real alternative platform, forks are the way to go.
Jason King
use safari like real men do.
Xavier Gutierrez
>how do you get netflix to work on it? You have to activate Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) that are disabled by default for not respecting your rights.
Also, don't use Netflix, they're fucking cunts, just use TPB.
Gabriel King
Yea, but how long will it last?
lol
>Brave Enjoy being sold. And cucked.
Well, I'm a woman.
Christopher Sanchez
thanks, and i dont use it myself, only with other people
Nathan Gray
wtf im the same as you
Isaiah Diaz
>Yea, but how long will it last? ? How should I know? You can tell that for literally anything.
The day it'll be shit, I'll change. It's a browser, not a house, you can change in a few minutes if the previous one goes to shit.
Brayden Kelly
>Enjoy being sold. And cucked. How so?
Zachary Ross
>you can change in a few minutes Not really, no. It has all my login cookies, thousands of bookmarks, customisation (both from a usability pov and visual), addons, etc.
Landon Rodriguez
That browser is an adware.
Lucas Allen
You sound retarded.
Carter Ramirez
How come?
Charles Morales
>That browser is an adware. How so?
Landon Clark
Tracks you and shows you their own ads.
Ian Nguyen
>not using qutebrowser
Matthew Lewis
The vast majority of this is trivial to redo and the rest of it is literally nonsense (addons are developed to a standardized browser-addon interface nowadays and it took me all of fifteen seconds to work out how to export/import bookmarks in Firefox). How do you manage to use any software whatsoever if one of your requirements is "there must be no chance of it ever going bad at any point in the future" and you aren't willing to put in the bare minimum of effort to switch to a new one if that happens?
Asher Cox
Chromium browsers won't import my bookmarks properly. I have many folders and will result in a hodge-podge. It will work only on Gecko-based, and only on recent versions (i.e it won't even work importing them on something based on Fx 56 or older).
Mason Peterson
>Tracks you and shows you their own ads. Source?
Hunter Price
It's the main "feature" of the browser.
Benjamin Cooper
>It's the main "feature" of the browser. You still haven't given me the source.
Evan Reyes
>It lists the top sites in your country >It lists the top sites in your country The real top sites would be Google + the dest all porn
Blake Scott
*rest
Jordan Johnson
Such a feature would not work without tracking.
Kayden Lewis
>Such a feature would not work without tracking. You still haven't given me the source.
Jack Wilson
The fact that they show you their own ads is the source.
Evan Murphy
i'd legit pay 50 bucks for a browser that wasn't a piece of shit.
So you had no source from the beginning, huh. You're one of those gullible retard that see things being said a few times on Jow Forums and automatically believes it to be the truth. Fair enough.
Adam Turner
Brave, Falkon, and Firefox are the only nice ones left.
Ryder Lee
I'm sorry mate, you lost the argument. You've lost your temper too, lol. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go celebrate my victory with a beer.
Dominic Cook
>Firefox >nice In what universe?
Blake Murphy
Jesus Christ, how cringy can one individual even be. Only a carat smiley is lacking.
Thomas Nguyen
>Firefox has facebook Facebook is a website. Are you asking that firefox specifically blocks facebook for some arbitrary reason?
Justin Morales
>cringy Words of a brave cuck :^)
Luke Bell
By default it promotes it. They even had that "share" initiative few years back.
Jackson Nelson
>:^) I laughed.
Joshua Scott
You know damn well it isn't "just a website" to firefox. Much like the search engine isn't "magically" defaulting to google for no reason. They're getting paid, stop making silly excuses for these retarded browser maintainers.
Luis Bell
The sponsored tiles for home page is one of the thing that Waterfox disabled when forking.
Easton Allen
>The day it'll be shit, I'll change. It's a browser, not a house, What do you do when all the houses come with obligatory printables preinstalled CCTV, Alexa and Google Home in every room that too can't turn off? And all old houses without them she have any roads leading to them?
Adam Sullivan
>What do you do when all the houses come with obligatory printables preinstalled CCTV, Alexa and Google Home in every room that too can't turn off? And all old houses without them she have any roads leading to them? That day will be a sad day, but that day has yet to come, nor do I ever see it coming. Do you have an idea, an alternative, or do you just intend to whine?
Gavin Miller
It doesn't really promote it. If your specifically avoiding facebook your not gonna click it just because its there, and if you use facebook it just makes it more convenient. Its a popular website and thats why its there. The share initiative wasn't great but at least its gone now.
You think Facebook is paying them for a spot on the homescreen which can easily be removed by people that don't use facebook? Until I see proof otherwise I highly doubt there's any collusion going on. Facebook and google are 2 of the most popular web services so defaulting with them isn't surprising, and it doesn't imply there's some funny business going on.
Also yes, in the context I was talking in facebook is just a website.
Jordan Clark
>not one decent web browser left *blocks your path*
>You think Facebook is paying them for a spot on the homescreen which can easily be removed by people that don't use facebook? This is the same sort of rhetoric people used about search engine defaults. >YA RLY THINK GOOGLE IS PAYING THEM? LOL NO THE SEARCH ENGINE JUST GOOD!
Samuel Cook
I'm not saying its because the search engine is good, but its because its the most widely used. As well as that, people that have concerns about privacy are usually more than willing to put the extra effort into setting a different search engine or anything else they need to do, whereas the masses who don't care that much will just give up if the default isn't the one they know and use often.
If you're issue with firefox is that it should be helping to promote the more privacy focussed services thats absolutely fair enough and I'd agree with that. But I doubt its some collusion between google and firefox, unless you can prove me wrong.
Asher Peterson
You really believe this?
Joshua Butler
Which is false, the choice wasn't made because it was widely used but because THEY PAID FOR IT.
Oliver Edwards
well now I'm convinced. I know I said before I needed some evidence for that but it turns out just echoing it several times in all caps did the job
Look, I know it's made by retarded commies and all, but they made the GUI better and it's faster than Chrome now.
Carson Phillips
Firefox is not made by commies. It's made by SJW libtards. If it was made by commies it would have been good, because they hire based on skill, not muh diversity (muh 50% negroid developers). Fx is rubbish nowadays.
Nicholas Gray
Make a better browser then, fucktard.
Lincoln Campbell
>Firefox is not made by commies Daily reminder that Mozilla gave 100,000 dollars to RiseUp, a far-left Anarcho-Communist group that works with branches of AntiFa and such.
>If it was made by commies it would have been good, because they hire based on skill You never read a history book, have you.
Firefox is good because those who made the platform years ago were good. Now it's a bunch of shitskins resting on the shoulder of giants.
Brandon Cox
Prove it can't all be disable one way or another. Until then, yes.
Kayden Torres
Safari is great
Charles Reyes
Fuck google, I can't remove that ass-shit google bar in the new tab now thanks to the removal of encrypted google.
Xavier Edwards
THIS! Why are people still wondering which browser to use?
Matthew Rogers
>Well, I'm a woman. If you have a penis you sure aren't.
Nicholas Powell
>use TPB nigga what
Owen Sanchez
>recommends tbp Are you some kind of retard? Is this bait?
