T410s?

T420

The OP pic gets worse every time. Accurate.

k, I thought non-s T-series had the seam at the top for the radio window, and from 420 onwards the full-size 'ThinkPad' logo.
So I was wrong on both things.

Did you even watch the video.

You're thinking about the X-series

It's uni laptop buying advice time again:
Do I get the ThinkPad A485 or the Latitude 5495? Both seem to tick the most important boxes for me. I like having a removable battery and a VGA port even in current year - neither laptop has both. Can anybody comment on build quality of either line as that will probably end up as the deciding factor?

>ThinkPad A
hahahahahahahahahahahaha no

>Jow Forums
Newfag

REEEEE, get out of my beautiful country fucking racist! Sweden will never be fascist hellhole!

That's the new one with Ryzen Pro CPUs, what's wrong with it? Surely Lenovo wouldn't bodge a line with great potential... Or would they?

>AMD
>what's wrong with it
gr8b8

That just means AMD. Which doesn't have Meltdown vulnerabilities and has superior integrated graphics. A-series is ThinkPads with AMD.

>just AMD
>just
ARM socs are more useful.

Latitude E7400 if you're a Dell Slut.
Panasonic Toughbook if you're /cyber/ and don't mind carrying around a massive PC. Your peers will laugh at you, but the CF-31 is ironclad.
Thinkpad is the safest bet, though. Couldn't be without my x200t at this point, though I am looking for more modern hardware. Interesting preference with the A-series, however.

I am a simple man, I see benchmarks, I buy the more powerful chip. And the 2700U BTFOs the 8650U so hard it's not even funny. So I have to ask, even if I'm just talking to shills, why not AMD? State your fucking reasons.

>Interesting preference with the A-series
AMD shills are running wild on Jow Forums atm.

Back to the topic of thinkpad, is there any advantage to a w5xx over a t5xx of the same gen?

Ah, yes, I remember the good old days when you could buy these stickers with a lower case Jow Forums

I went to one of NMR's info meetings and I didn't join, but I'm not far from it, something has to be done and you know it. Most of the EU gets it now, such a shame that it's run by Merkel and her recent boy toy Macron

yes

Do you have a NMB, ALPS, or Chicony keyboard?

If you don't know, then you don't belong here.

Attached: 1510703139042.jpg (463x494, 47K)

dunno, eegsblain

Attached: 0eb.jpg (1354x889, 161K)

Nobody cares. That shit is even more sad than caring about the brand of shoelaces in your boots.

NMB is the best, ALPS is alright, Chicony is shit.
NMB uses red domes, ALPS and Chicony use white/grey/clear domes.

You're ignorant as fuck.
I was asking because I went from a Chicony to a NMB keyboard and it is noticeably better.
You're probably a Chiconyfag btw.

Attached: 1513287881150.png (600x600, 237K)

K

what do you expect from a retarded frogposter

Ah yes, another Chiconyfag.

Seriously give it up, nobody cares about your shit.
>anyone who doesn't have CMG capacitors on their mobo is a fag ecksdee ecksdee

finally someone who isnt a leftfag

I saw this sticker yesterday

Any advantages of note?

Not me, I always post with a pepe on a light blue background.

someone sell me a T420 plz

I'm guessing you mean the Nordfront one, good!

Attached: DL30UkqX0AERjtT.jpg (954x960, 80K)

70€

im guessing the shipping costs to the usa are going to make it not worth it, otherwise id be all over that desu

Attached: IMG_0113.jpg (640x640, 89K)

Not that stupid yurop shit. I meant the g certified toaster

So you saw it out in the wild and didn't say anything? I'm not surprised..

Yeah, plus I want to sell locally. I have someone coming to see it Sunday, pretty sure it will sell.

Can I fit a 4600mq processor in a 540p
Also what would I need to do to get it to recognise higher than 16gb of ram?

>skip good offers because the lids have scratches
>realize I can buy the part for a few bucks

Attached: 1522682021017.jpg (793x786, 54K)

Does anyone know? I just wanna build a chinkpad powerhouse

sure

w530 for $150 when?

user, lids are like $10-30 each.
You could just put a layer of plastidip if you are a poorfag too.

how much senpai?

The 1, 2, 3, 4, T and Y keys on my X201 are not working. How should I fix it, and as a last resort, can I trust eBay for a replacement?

let me list off the speks

>regular shitty panel 1600x900
>320gb hard drive if you want it
>no OS but it has a windows key (install gentoo)
>fingerprint authenticator (who cares)
>unlocked bios of course
>9 cell battery (decent condition)
>i5-2520 dual core with hyperthreading 2.5GHz
>Nvidia NVS 4200M
>6gb of ram

Now let me tell you what's wrong with it
>left side of palmrest is slightly broken and wobbly
>fucked up the touchpad sticker when I was cleaning the laptop

I'm asking $100 dollars and depending on where you are we can negotiate shipping.
Here's my email since I'll probably be warned or even banned for advertising.

Anyone, feel free to inquire.

Any wrapped their thinkpad in a skin like this?
Does it look good

Got this X61 with original battery lasting 3 hours and it's pretty much pristine. I payed a good money tho, I could almost get a X200. Waiting for stuff to arrive is so depressing..

like an IPS screen and X62 mobo? :-)

fuck i want something like the x62 board for the x61t

My X220T is NMB. It does feel a good 10% more "springy" than my other ones
Mine was 160 so yeah that's great. Be prepared to repaste though, they usually run hot as fuck. And you'll probably have a shit ton of scratches on the screen since the X220t doesn't have a latch and the screen rubs on the keyboard

Attached: 1491540671531.png (406x493, 49K)

Going by the Wiki it has an IPS screen I can upgrade to anyways. I can also just get some like rubber bumpers to stick around the edges to space it out, thanks for the tip.

Any idea if it's possible to use a GPU through the mini PCI slot if it has one?

It already has rubber bumpers, they just don't do a very good job.
And no. Even if you can the thing will cook itself. You'll see how hot it runs when you get it. external GPU is a meme anyway, especially without TB3

I wanna try the x220 keyboard on my x230, do you think it's worth it? Seems many people think the new keyboard is superior aside from the layout.

Also, which other laptops can compete with Thinkpads in the keyboard department?

Attached: VargOscar.jpg (111x140, 9K)

no. It doesn't fit clean and the new one is more tactile anyway.
Any layout autism can be fixed with xmodmap

X220 keyboard fits in the x230.
Water drain will have problems.

Attached: yqI2KKv.jpg (4032x3024, 705K)

just installed an IPS display on my x230 today,
fucking noice.

there are no official 9-cell batteries for the x220/x230 tablets, has anyone tried these generic ones titled "9-cell" on ebay?

It does look like it bulges farther out, like it has more capacity. Unless it's just chink trickery

Attached: battery.jpg (1600x1600, 268K)

Bros, convince me to buy the p52 like a real man and to not buy the Razer blade 15 like a fag.

Attached: csm_7nw_Thinkpad_P52_Hero_Birdseye_B_C_Cover_copy_ac534dc0f4.png (1481x1200, 808K)

get a foken jab m8

The P52 is splasproof, has good warranty, and will last 8 years on average.
Razer will be overpriced and not worth its price.

Probably check amazon for the same kind of thing with reviews, I'll have to shop for one soon as well

The P52 is an actual workstation, let mommy lisa explain
youtube.com/watch?v=Kse7KwwBHuM

Need a docking station for my W520 so I can connect an HDMI cord from it to my TV.
Why the fuck are they so expensive? They're like $100+ dollars. Anyone know of any cheaper alternative?

a bunch of fucking monkeys on ebay put W5xx as le gaymur laptops on ebay and now everything related to them is overpriced as fuck

Why don't you just get a display port adapter?

amazon doesn't have this supposed 9 cell, only ebay and one seller on aliexpress (but that has some good feedback.)

Take the gamble for me and let me know how it goes, but ebay usually sides with the buyers I think.

What's a good modern upgrade from x220.
I just want some more power.

x230

Recently got a my first thinkpad, a T430, from my brother since his workplace was tossing a bunch of them away. Holy shit, even the chiclet keyboard is a lot better than most other laptops today. The screen is the shitty 768p one, but it's good enough for reading and typing.

I think the only other keyboard on a modern laptop I like more is the one on new Alienware laptops, but those things are so expensive.

Any love for skins?

I just use a decal.

Found a couple of "9 cell" on amazon with poor reviews

0.01 shekels where deposited into your bank account, goy.
Thanks to help us leap ahead!

Those aren't for the tablet versions like I said. They don't physically fit.

They're specifically listing X220T and list "tablet only" in their description, is there something to look for otherwise?

Buying from Lenovo is a nightmare. It'll be obsolete by the time you get it.

So my x220t arrived today, got it all setup, but I noticed that the core is clocked much lower than it is supposed to, and that under 100% load it pushes less than 10W, is this normal? sorry if I am retarded, pic related

Attached: is this normal.png (422x641, 28K)

Did you reset the BIOS yet? Might be an underpowered AC adapter. Also don't know how accurate HWinfo is for power

What's the acceptable price for a used T500 keyboard?

What do you mean by reset the BIOS? And I do have it only connected to the AC adapter I currently dont have a battery yet (comes in tomorrow)
I think I found the culprit though, the adapter that came with it only pushes 3.25 amps... the one its supposed to have pushes 4.5
Ill email the seller tomorrow and ask them why they are retarded

look at the voltage, way too low, hope that it's just the AC adapter and not something hardware related

Attached: ismyshitfucked.png (493x510, 137K)

Just how fucking much will cost the p52 with xeon and 4k display?

1 bitcoin

I guess it's only an issue when the battery is removed, Ill pop it in tomorrow and see how it does

Should just buy a 90W-120W universal adapter anyways, it'll only use as much power as it needs.

I assume they sent you an underpowered one because it's what they had lying around.

Isn't that covered in the wiki about running it without a battery? Pretty sure I saw that in there

Hey guys,

I dropped my T450s on the street --> it's dead now.

I however still have a docking station for that ThinkPad generation (works up to T470 models) and am thinking of what could be a good replacement?

What's important to me is performance and also price.

Can we expect an AMD-powered L-series any time soon?

I would like something cheaper than an A-series without having gimped thermals like the E-series.

A Ryzen+Vega L-385 Yoga sounds P E R F E C T.

Attached: download.png (3840x2160, 234K)

I have one, I just fell for the college meme

I've been having a problem on my X220 tablet (running Windows 10) - it will alternate between the trackpad and the trackpoint not working. Anyone know what could be up?

Could be a bad connection
