FUD article, the code on Github is only a mirror. The real code was never compromised.

The first action you take when installing gentoo isn't git clone github.com/gentoo/gentoo.git ?

Install GuixSD

Nawt bad idea

It was a mirror that got hacked. Paul Ducklin is a fucking twit who in his own words "is a passionate security proselytiser. (That's like an evangelist, but more so!)"

He's a fuckin' moron. Just look at him

>the code on Github is only a mirror. The real code was never compromised.
it says so in the article. how is it FUD? it just (arguably) uses a slightl clickb8ty title

The title literally states “all code considered compromised”

No code is compromised, this is a secondary mirror. How is that not FUD

>The title literally states “all code considered compromised”
yes, all code in the github repo is considered compromised. as I said, the title is arguably a tad clickb8ty, but the article itself isnt lying as far as I can tell (havent read it, just read OP's pic)

no
if you follow the handbook you download the tarball directly from their main website with wget

You don't use the github repo to compile Gentoo. All source comes from a master repository. Literally no one's Gentoo install is compromised.

Yeah, he's a total chode.

what a (((((((((((((coincidence)))))))))))))))

>put your project on git
>a version control system
>that shows you modifications and commits
>and allows you to revert to older commits as you please
