I'm the guy from yesterday with the broken capacitor.
I soldered a new one on.
It was actually very easy and I should not have been scared at all. I used my dad's 35-year old solder iron. The trick was getting the vacuum thing to suck all the molten shit out. Two succ and the hole was wide open for the new one. Putting the new one on was easy as shit.
Now I can continue using my 3570K for as long as it's useful.
I've been here since 2007, you guys have helped me a lot.
My brother helped me clean my PC and then broke a capacitor on the motherboard while trying to put her back in place
I have an i5-3570K with DDR3 RAM and old motherboards are nowhere to be found, so I'd have to buy an entire new motherboard/RAM/CPU combo at a cost of like $500.

How do i unsubscribe from your lame ass blog?

Why the heck would anyone replace their 3570k? DDR4 is a shit show, new processors are a shit show, new mobos are double the shit show.
Good job, OP.

Good job OP! I knew you could do it!

you couldn't find a z77 motherboard?
I'm not saying it wasn't a better idea to solder in the capacitor, just saying that you're exaggerating quite a bit.
Why do you need help cleaning your PC? Why would you let anyone other than you touch any of your technology?
Andrew Reed
That may be the case in your area, GAYMING brand lga 1155 boards are quite rare at an affordable price, used in the US.

>I've been here since 2007, you guys have helped me a lot. That's a pity, Jow Forums isn't supposed to be your tech support. Use a forum for shit like that, that way other people can find your solution and don't have to ask again.
Andrew Hall
Oh fuck off if people ask honest questions we help.
