This, but unironically

I actually use the same thing, except x3.
3*27" is too damn big for my desk and a good 40" 4K screen is too expensive or I would have 24+40+24 with the 24 inchers in vertical.

should I pull the trigger on a new monitor or should I keep using this tv from 2012?

I'll be honest, it is a bit of overkill. Scaling is a bitch. My next laptop will be 14" or 15.6" with the same resolution

Dunno, I really enjoy this format.

I regret not just getting 2k as I have to scale 150% as is. Don't get uhd unless the screen is at least 34"

we can laugh all we want but Sony unironically made a phone with a 5.5" 4K HDR screen.

by the way Sony smartphones are criminally underrated, I've had like three of them and they were all great

I know, that's what I'm mocking, FHD is already pushing it at that size, some people just need to compensate for other things

Don’t hate me for not being poor.

2x 27" 3840x2160 (Dell U2718Q)
had 43" 3840x2160 TV before, but with a desk around 60cm deep you get neck pain pretty quickly because you have to move your head around so much and on top of that you can't actually profit from the ppi (it's the same as 4x 21.5" 1920x1080).
Was afraid of the scaling to 1440p from 2160p on 27" for readability, but Windows 10 actually manages pretty good in 95% of the scenarios, so you can't actually tell individual pixels apart like you can with 1440p at 27" or 1080p at 24", would recommend (for gaymen you can always run stuff at 1080p for linear scalability and performance, it won't look as bad as scaling 1440p to 1080p).

Same. Should have gotten a bigger monitor desu, 27" feels small for that resolution.

Same as you usually, but sometimes it's comfy to use the ol' 4:3.

That might be true in the US and Europe, but in my country they are awfully overpriced for their hardware, especially their mid-range models.

Anybody with 16:10 monitors? Is it any good?

OP here. I tried yesterday both 40" 3840x2160 and 24" 2560x1440. Both were sharp and haven't had any issues. But is only 3" needed to make a big difference?

1440x2560 + 3840x2160 + 3840x2160
All 27"

not this guy but if you're content with both 2160p 40" and 24" 1440p, 27" 1440p won't bother you because its ppi is roughly the same as 2160p 40". Check sven.de/dpi/ for reference.
