4x games seem to be the one genre that generally run better on Linux than on Windows, sheer time per turn/month/etc is significantly lower because it has nothing to do with the gpu and linux's low overhead really has a chance to shine.
Late game Stellaris months were lass ass-fuckingly slow to pass after I made the switch.
However, basically every other kind of game performs worse, though when the difference is 200 fps vs 300 it doesn't really matter.

Pretty much all emulators are available for linux which gives it pretty much all the best games available.
