Asus pg27uq

What do you need to do to drive this display?
(it's 4k 144hz)

Literally nothing can do 4K at 144hz consistently.

Congrats on your meme display.

To expand:
Anything less than an i9 doesn't have enough PCIe lanes for SLI. The 7900x gets pretty hot and doesn't have the single threaded performance of a 8086k.
Are SLI 1080ti s even enough.

install gentoo.

You can probably run glxgears at 144hz 4k with a mid range card.

It hertz

Play games like Dota2, LoL, or Overwatch.

You could lower some settings and go for 90 or 100fps, or go sli and get closer to 144hz depending on the game. But at it's price it's not really worth it.

They rely on two types of people to sell those monitors:
- Absolute nerd faggots who are into "competitive" gaming that will play old ass games at the lowest possible graphics options settings to gain frames
- Absolute retards with more money than sense that think the monitor alone will make gaming better, being too dumb to understand they will never be able to render their favorite games anywhere near 144 frames per second at 4k

That being said I'll take 60hz at 3440x1440 or 4k over 120hz or 144hz at 1920x1080. The faster refresh rate looks amazing, but not at the cost of somewhat decent resolution and graphics settings.

By the time hardware will be able to take advantage of this hopefully we'll have OLED

I wish I had one with a good panel to play Mass Effect 3 in 144Hz.

I would say a 1180ti.

A 1080 Ti can render ~80 FPS in BF1. The next Ti will do at least 110-120.

Anyone with a monitor above 120Hz is looking at a fucking meme. Even 2160p is less of a meme than fucking 144Hz.

>The faster refresh rate looks amazing
It doesn't just look good, it also reduces delay unless you have an adaptive refresh rate monitor.

I'm not sure why you'd worry with getting 144fps.
Things feel just fine to me at 85 & 100hz

Volta.

What kind of display outputs even support 4k@144Hz? Because DP tops out at 120.

I think it can do 98hz or 96hz
And more if you lower chroma subsampling

>4K """HDR""" 144Hz at 8-bit 4:2:2
what a scam

>What do you need to do to drive this display?
a graphics card

My 1080ti drives 1440p at 90-110 fps. I would imagine you need 3 1080tis for full 4K hitting 144 frames at all times.

>$1999 for a HDR Goysinc monitor
>$1999

The FPGA G-Sync chipset that drives G-Sync HDR displays is $2600 in low volumes. Now considering the monitor OEM gets a big discount for ordering them in bulk you are still paying more for the G-Sync tax than the monitor itself.

Think about that for a moment.

You need a actual port that supports it, and the hdmi 2.0 it has loses color depth at that refresh rate

actually it can be done fine with 2 displayports

probably really runs at like 50ms regardless if it says 1ms or some thing.

most 1ms monitors are in reality 15-30ms. and 4k would be even worse.

don't get it get a CRT and keep using them until the 980ti isn't powerful enough to run them any more than might be 4-5 years and then check if LCD technology has improved by then.

It's not 4K 144Hz you dipshit. It can only do 98Hz at 4K with full color

if you want 144Hz 4K, you will need to use YcbCr 4:2:2 color space, which makes text like shit

Nvidia is worse than hitler

We all know the redditor-retards who buy these monitors won't change the refresh rate (Windows 10 defaults to 60Hz). But they will still make posts on Jow Forumspcmasterrace saying how buttery smooth (xD) it is

>Anything less than an i9 doesn't have enough PCIe lanes for SLI
Retard detected. There's like 1% performance difference between 8x + 8x and 16x + 16x with a 1080ti. Even pci-e 2.0 8x is perfectly fine

t. someone who never used SLI in his life
8x is not enough, you need HEDT with more lanes to fully utilize high end graphics cards in SLI. Example video here, that guy's channel has more tests if you care enough.

DisplayPort 1.4 support which only Pascal and Volta supports atm until Turing launches

highly doubt it

taiwanggers are planning to milk the liquid crystal cow dry

Based EU bros buying this shit, posting unpaid reviews on jewtube and returning it for 100% refund.
