The government monitors ALL traffic the only difference on Tor is that they don't know easily WHO sent the request. You should threat the internet the same way. Someone is reading your traffic. Just use TLS and it is no longer an issue.

Yeah, they used javascript instead and went after low hanging fruit to get inside, then busted the rings from the inside. Correlation works and has been used in the wild, but it's really hit or miss without owning ALL of the entry/exit nodes.
