Spacetime Distortion

Hey Jow Forums, what causes spacetime distortion aside from gravity?

By that I mean, are there modern technologies that can cause spacetime distortion?

Minovsky particles.

if there is i'd sure like to see how it works.

What is that?

ur mom LMAO

Lots of condensed mass

RMS

What do you mean?

Rotation, frame dragging effect.

The abundance of matter in a localised area increases the computation required so the simulation slows down because of the load.

Attached: 1530514133148.png (1768x2560, 3.98M)

So if I were to rotate a massive enough object, it distorts spacetime?

Yes.

How do we calculate that?

General relativity.

>what causes spacetime distortion aside from gravity?
requirements for higher computational power... its all a simulation pham.

That would be near impossible.
Even if we genetically engineered all plants on this planet into a planet-wide computer.

>Even if we
you are fucking part of the simulation... you can't do shit.

And I never claimed that we would run such a simulation, did I?

brainletwojaks with blackholes in their head

Yeah, we can't do shit.

Everything with mass does. The effect however is nearly impossible to notice until we reach masses that of black holes.

Richard Machismo Stalmin, who's name also means root mean square. Basically, he has this theory that if you divide GNU by Lin(x) and then take the root mean square of that, you could somehow bend gravity and obtain FOSS heaven. The dude is crazy. I don't even understand half of what he says.

So you're saying that our universe was created, perhaps by some sort of creator?

>what are orbits
You don't need to get anywhere near black hole mass to notice distortion of spacetime.

They're minovsky particles, get with the picture.

Interesting, I'll look it up.

This.

spacetime distortion IS gravity

based

Fuck, came to say it.

>So you're saying that our universe was created, perhaps by some sort of creator?
how would I know that? the only way I could know is if I (the creature) stepped out of the creation.. (maybe through some sort of enlightenment/mystical experience). But in this case, it would be me who is the creator in the first place.

Atman == Brahman

And if I had to subscribe to a religion, it would be hinduism, not mainstream christianity.

>Hinduism
>World's third largest religion
>Isn't mainstream
What did he mean?

I meant I wouldn't subscribe to mainstream christianity. If I had to be christian, I would pick the early version (gnosticism)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gnosticism

user, we don't know what spacetime destoration is nor we know if it exist. We don't know what gravity is. You are asking questions about things that we don't and never will understand. Theories are not facts.

Any concentration of energy. Mass is only a special case.
Also in general relativity gravity IS spacetime distortion, not its cause. In terms of quantum mechanics we still don't have a valid model we could test.

>not noticable unless near a black hole
>we still need to take time dilation effects in GPS, otherwise it doesn't work

And particles only having certain of its properties when another system interacts with it is just lazy evaluation to save processing power.

He might have meant mainstream outside of places where people have zero education and shit in the streets.

My masters thesis is on creating a program to model non euclidian spaces including spacetime deformations.

It's an intrinsic property of matter to bend spacetime. Why is this so? Well, whoever can prove the answer to that will win a Nobel prize.

Who says that the simulated world must match the real world?

Space-time distortion is visible using moder technology. It naturally occurs in cosmos.

Are you living in 19th century or just a brainlet?

What the fuck did I just smoke?

That's awesome, but how does it work?

Imagine the 2D space equivalent of a wormhole. My idea was that because it can be represented through a normal 3D triangle mesh, by calculating how a point would move on it's surface, I can calculate how light travels and create a ray tracer, I did this, then generalized the algorithm from one that traverses the surface of a 3D triangle mesh, to one that traverses the volume of a 4D tetrahedral mesh. Generating these meshes was also complicated, but it's all working now.

Spacetime distortion was literally proven by Eddington in 1919.

Shame space doesn't really exist.

shame there's no time...

Man you need to make this downloadable in the long run. Shit would be facinating to tinker with.

That's the whole point, still have a ways to go, for example, if a tetrahedron has 0 volume it crashes, when I sort out all the kinks any mathmatitian or physicist can imagine one space, and as long as he can describe the shape with my tools he'll instantly visualize it, even being able to modify it and see the results live. (I want to make a game out of this too though)

Gnosticism wasn't the early version of Christianity, it was just an early heretical cult. The Early Church was founded by order of Jesus Christ when he sent Peter to Rome, and that church then split into the Catholic and Orthodox churches 1,000 years later - both of which still exist today.

Wouldn't packet loss be a more appropriate analogy?

Anyone know how much energy per second reduced?

Is the program opensource?

No shit.

DO IT!

If we can slow down time in one particular area in space, will gravity exist?
Asking an honest question here.

Since gravity actually does slow down time - yes.

I need this in my life, are you planning to share it with the world?

Attached: your-mother-is-so-fat-her-mass-causes-a-stack-overflow.jpg (355x342, 37K)

gravitation is the detected influence of mass, not the mass itself

>confusing the measurement of the thing with the thing itself

Agreed

...

Reminds me of early 3D game engines like Duke Nukem 3D and Descent. Spaces could overlap themselves so you could for example follow a circuit and when you expect to get back to where you started you'd be at the same 3D coordinates but in a different place.

a fuckton of light or any other form of energy

It will be.

Yes.

Yes, but this allows for "curved" space.
