I use my phone as a raspberry pi 3 screen and use that raspberry pi 3 to remote into my PCs or as a standalone linux machine.
This solution allows me to work in any place that I can sit down. No desk required.
Will a similar solution to this make laptops obsolete at some point?
What do you think?
I can go to the kitchen/toilet with my computer and I still have free hands to do whatever.

Didn't you already post an autistic thread on this?

It never went viral for some reason.

So you're going to post it everyday?

Attached: moeka.png (1262x1519, 1.2M)

Haven't decided yet. I have other things to do.

cut out the middleman, your phone is faster than the Pi

1. Android system shortcuts don't allow proper usage of RealVNC
2. Phone has no HDMI

Why not just get an actual ultraportable then? Like an X220 or e6220? Why this shit

I have x220.
It doesn't fit into my pocket.
With phone+rpi just replace helmet with normal phone stand and you are golden.

be honest OP, no, you don't.

How the hell do you use a phone as a screen..?

So you are going to sperg out in threads you don't like after clicking it knowing you wouldn't like it?
And you talk about autism.

No physical keyboard?

Shit tier phone screen?

Streaming to a slow raspi?

LOL NICE BAIT

Im going to ball this thread up and shove it in my assshole...

You're telling me my dad died for threads like THIS?

so basically you added a convoluted step into controlling your PC remotely from the phone?
woah

is this galaxy active ?

The fucking helmet doesn't fit in your pocket either

Why not just use termux?

I can just hook up a keyboard to my phone and use it that way btw.

I have a VNC server running on RPI and when I connect usb cable from RPI to phone USB tethering starts. The phone sends internet to RPI via usb interface and allows VNC connection.

Plug in RPI to phone, tethering starts automatically, start localhost:5900 on Android vnc client and there you go, you have RPI screen on android display.

Remember to configure static ip on RPI usb1 interface so that the IP is always the same.

>No physical keyboard?
Thinkpad bt keyboard.
And I use RPI3 to vnc into my other PCs.
It's a vnc inside a vnc.

Yes because raspberry pi displays have shit resolutions and using external keyboard with vnc on android is impossible due to system shortcuts.
I get 1280x720 screen, my phone gets charged and the keyboard is paired with RPI3 directly.

Not with VNC. If you alt-tab or middle click on Android this will trigger system shortcut on Android instead of sending these keys via VNC.

For pocket use I have a stand, powerbank and foldable keyboard

mobile is not secure.
don't be tempted to ssh or remote from them for any purpose.
use a dedicated librebooted and prepped device for the purpose.

I use the phone only as a screen. All sensitive comunication goes through raspberry pi.

>for some reason
Gee I wonder why.

>htop on screen

Jesus htop is the go to command to look like youre a hacker.

I know. With that quality you can't see any usernames.

desu i've always wished VR headsets had actually readable text for this exact reason

1280x720 on a phone is totally readable at this distance.

Are you autism shaming op?

He needs the helmet anyway

>phone user
This setup is cool but RMS would be ashamed. A real hacker doesn't use non-free software. Unless you are running one of the few phones that can run replicant you are making RMS sad. You may say that this is a shitpost but at the same time it is the truth.

I like to have linux and android running at the same mate. I may have autism but not the RMS kind.

>helmet mount
>not HUD glasses
It's like we are regressing

>a piece of plastic vs 8000+ USD hud glasses

So you fit your phone, rpi, i assume some battery for rpi?, and a bt keyboard in your pocket?
If you can fit all this in a pocket, you would fit x200 easily in there instead

Attached: 1383823357355.jpg (400x320, 47K)

I can fit all these items in my jeans left pocket. You will never fit a 7''+ laptop in your jeans

Pic of your Thinkpad bt keyboard in jeans left pocket please.

For pocket use I use MS foldable keyboard.
Pic rel:
keyboard, battery, rpi3, stand, phone

Attached: 20180703_083743.jpg (3088x3088, 3.1M)

And yes, by using 2 pockets everything becomes flat and fits without bringing any attention.

I can also use rpi0.

Attached: 20180703_084256.jpg (3088x3088, 3.67M)

>Ms foldable
absolutely disgusting
I would rather do >pic related instead

Attached: 1430312403-11.jpg (600x468, 34K)

Can i be the one who is famous instead ?

Attached: 12620.jpg (1477x1108, 96K)

Isn't this keyboard shit for serious typing?
