i am a fan of Xfce since it isn’t too minimalist and isn’t über bloated like KDE and Gnome
windowchef
>everything you'd ever need
whichever one makes you most productive
i3

Kwin, accompanied by the rest of the KDE Plasma desktop environment
spectrwm
Xmonad
spectrwm/dwm + lemonbar
pic related
I like xfce but they need to include a network graph in their task manager
currently using kde on one box and gnome on the other one
Exwm
Custom using wmutils
It's DWM of course. The Desktop Window Manager.
what browser?
I have never had a good experience with window managers.
Every time I start using one, I quickly realize how dependent I am on moving around windows, as I need them.
My workflow isn't static enough that having a twm is good for me. It's too erratic, and I wish it wasn't.
Reminder that your WM a bloat. BLOAT!
dwm
not a discussion
firefox
firefox with css's
wow 76% of your ram is being used nice bloat
>need make a config
>recompile
>change one little thing
>need recompile
Into the trash it goes
User32. Fuck DWM.
>less than 100% of your ram is being used what a waste
FTFY. You're welcome.
is this shit doable in quantum?
>not using default install
>changing it when it just works
dwm.exe
no afaik
bspwm
idiot
Dwm
Dwm
openbox
so what are you, a “i like a tiling windows manager that only takes 200k of ram” or “muh KDE plasma!”
what’s your wm? i’m sure whatever it is i can shit on it, because opinions are like assholes
XFCE isn't a WM, it uses xfwm as its window manager. That's why you're an idiot.
xmonad or i3wm
Everything else is shite
FVWM
this, bspwm + lemonbar is all I need
Xmonad is only around 1000 lines of Haskell
+1 for Racket. Based
-1 for Windows. :(
there is no best
>do you want tiling
>do you want static tiling
>do you want dynamic tiling
>do you want tabs/stacks
>do you want floating
>do you want window containers
etc. no wm has everything
Xmonad does, sweetie.
Bill Gates
unironicly, Blackbox, even though it has been a decade since the last update
it looks good but I'm afraid of haskell >.
Only 18 packages, what a bargain.
i3 or openbox
Period.
I3 gaps
screenfetch -t to keep your CPU from cutting through your gentoo :^)
Don't be. The difficulty is a meme, you don't need to know category theory, just like you don't need to know typed lambda calculus to program in ocaml or lambda calculus to program in lisp. Just fucking get a book or something (not that you'd need anything like that to set up xmonad config - it's declarative).
very this.
Very not this.
Plasma is great, love it.
kwin is hot garbage.
I don't see how emerge dwm is such a problem for you
sway, jesus christ the v1 will be a game changer
I use KDE plasma, so in this case I use kwin
Openbox
openbox or awesome
whatever works best for you user :)
time to dab all these 9th graders who installed i3 as their first window manager
i3 is a piece of shit, it uses over 2x the ram as herbst while having fewer features, less customization, and including more garbage libraries
THIS
and on top of that, nothing should exist when araiwm exists :sunglasses:
Can you give me a peek of that beauty?
Is there a way so I can switch between I3 and XFCE seamlessly? With some kind of script maybe?
sure thing github.com
>implying anything involving either i3 or xfce is seamless
Okay. Some other WMs and DMs that support this? Or are you just shitposting
looks good user
i'm not shitposting, im suggesting using 1 wm with the features you like rather than asking an image board full of other ninth graders how you can more easily switch the "screenshot version" of your desktop
Can I tune Linux Mint like this?
you sure can but it would be stupid
Thankas much.
You can tune anything like anything. some autists such as myself often seem to prefer starting from a "minimal install" blank slate and installing just what's needed from there, but there's nothing stopping you from modifying your Mint install to look like that.

taking with you all the open programs and putting them on the same virtual desktops? Or do you mean porting your config files so both look the same?
what does the meme chart really measure?
thank u very much
very easily, herbstluftwm is easy to setup. i can share my configs if u want
no problem
Can you share your dotfiles?
who are u asking?
too much lag
weston is the only ok wayland one
i3 is shite for switching windows
those kind of lists are always wrong
>need make a config
>cp config.def.h config.h
>much work
