i found out there's no power button after you activate the power supply. i actually have to short a panel to turn it on.

If you do not already have the 1700, you could go with a 2600 and there are many good mobo for it as well. You shouldn't have any issue either way even with a 350/370 or 470 or whatever the new ones are as they're all backward compatible even with the Ryzen 1st Gen. Maybe that's something you could consider?

Wat? The BIOS is exactly the same as on my X99 board and the Z77 I had before. It just has a few different voltages and settings. Buy ASUS if you want a proper BIOS.
I don't have any memory issues or BSODs, let alone OC ones. My friend bought a Ryzen and 2666 memory shortly after release, it was on the QVL but didn't boot. He had to get a 2133 MHz module to flash the BIOS. Then it worked. But this was in the first weeks it doesn't happen anymore.
You can run any RAM at 2133. If you buy 3200+ it will be 2133 with XMP. The main difference is the binning, 3200+ RAM has been binned for module, speed and latency compability. If you buy 2400 RAM you might end up lucky, but don't expect good OCs like with Samsung BDies. Its still worth for budget systems.
Which sidepanel would you recommend? I was thinking of a vertical screen, of course IPS matching the XB321s quality and similar PPI (140). I already have more pixels than multimonitorfags.

Depends on what you prefer. The 4K is for slow paced RPGs, if you play mostly single player and coop like me. If you care about your 'competetive' FPS you should stick with refresh rate. Once you choose one you wont want to turn back. Thats why I stick with 60 Hz until 144 becomes avaiable in proper resolution. Fuck off with those shitty UW. I only buy WHOLE screens. Nothing chopped off.
