none that i know of, they sound very slightly v-shaped, close to Harman target but with around half the bass bump, great imaging
i wouldn't pay full price but at the price they're on amazon they're amazingly good

theres 3 different groups of people here

theres the enthusiasts who are the core posters. theyre audiophiles more or less and have a strong interest in headphones and audio gear. they're here a lot of the time and for them this general is about discussing audio gear on a pretty high level, like what makes a good headphone or what kinds of amps/dacs are good or whatever, and then also to some extent discussing news and some purchase stuff. these are the guys arguing about hd650 vs hd600 every night or whether planar magnetic should exist etc

theres headphone enthusiasts who arent part of this general but who drop by when theyre about to buy something and they want to check some stuff or maybe get some advice, or for some god forsaken reason to post about a purchase they already made and tell everybody how great it is without asking here first. the first group of people interacts with this group pretty well because they have an interest

the last group of people are just randoms who want headphones. they really dont care much about headphones or headphone gear and they show up without reading any posts or really caring what people are talking about, theyre just here to ask for purchase advice and then leave as soon as they're done. in a general like mkg this isn't as much of a problem because you have to be pretty into the hobby to care enough about keyboards to ask for a serious one, but in headphones pretty much everybody who owns electronics buys headphones so you have tons of people who really dont care at all about headphones coming in and asking for the same recommendations over and over, gaming headsets with bluetooth and heavy bass etc

so the first group of people is pretty tired of the 3rd group and after seeing the same questions a million times really dont care at all to give helpful advice again and again. the second group still gets discussion in a different way but the 3rd group are pretty highly unwanted

Anybody know how to tell if aptX is actually working? Got an old pair of bluetooth buds that say aptX on the side but I don't trust my android phone is actually pushing that out. Just trying to squeeze in some music mix testing while I'm at work.

My speakers, DAC, and a subwoofer I want to use all have 1 input each. Can I use a RCA Y-splitter and send the signal from one of the speakers to the sub as well? I wonder if it'll get like, "less signal" and sound weaker than the other one.

Y splitter cables won't affect the audio quality usually. Input impedances are normally very high on line level inputs.

Planars are harder to drive and that's hardly a value or portable. Also the EL8 is absolute garbage for $800, barely passable for $200 and the sine and PM3 are on ears. PM3 is nice though, but the pads disintegrate.
