did you not see the recent news stories where anyone could look up your location at any time by paying a small subscription fee? the cell companies opened up the location services to everyone.

if anything, just use the dumbphone to avoid the temptation to install shitty apps. i have a blackberry for that reason; it legitimately upsets people that I don't have an iphone or android because they can't comprehend not being on the botnet.

Tbh avoiding bad apps (like clover which drains my productivity) is another reason why I wanted it. I was considering blackberry as well because I love physical keyboards, but I have not been following phone tech since I've had the same phone for the last 6 years. Does RIM still use their own OS for blackberry? I remember hearing they were in big financial trouble a few years ago and thought they stopped making anything worthwhile
