Measure it

Id say the bare copper with clear plastic is the gnd

No multi meter like a retard

And R/W is 1 pair and G/W is the other.
if it isnt then just switch it

Either the red or white has to be it as the black wire that goes to the right is for the right ear cup so either could be it. And then the circuit is strange for it being red as ground or clear.

So clear is the ground for the left cup and white is the ground for the right?

Ive seen them all but the cup wiring is different from mine.

It looks like the Clear coated red and green are ground for either left or right and the clear copper is just ground for isolation or whatever. solid plastic i would think is positive
that makes sense to me

Sorry captcha locked me out

You really had to ask this?

Do you have 9V battery?

not OP here...
this sounds like a horrible idea

Im intrigued

Nope but if its powering a wire to see if it get hot no.

>this sounds like a horrible idea
To someone completely clueless about electronics, yes it may sound like that.

This should work OP

Care to explain please then? I have no idea still which wire is which.

Dammit OP just try what said.

ffs.

Tried it and now it works with the correct channels but the volume on the right is rather quite compared to left making it sound more like 65% to the left for only discord that I can tell. My other headset sounds fine so something I did wrong?

that doesnt really sound like a wiring prob. are you sure you didnt change anything else?

I swapped the cable for a 3.5mm jack. This is what I came out with. The yellow being left signal, white being ground and the black being right signal.

I dont rally know much about electronics but that sounds like some sort of resistance somewhere making the volume quieter... is the jack completely passive? (just metal and plastic, no electronics?)

*really
also why u naked?

^^

Tried re soldering the joins and nothing and then shit just fell apart so its now broke. The solder joints to the circuit board fell off and I broke a tiny wire connecting the yellow and ground.

Damn. so is it done for?

your diagram looks right but you may need the 4 contact 3.5mm jack with gnds for each channel

What do you mean?

wait never mind i dont think that would work.
try re-soldering it if you can and try it on a different device. can you get a good photo of the end f the aux/3.5mm cable?

Taken it out now, but this is what the jack looked like.
