I fell for the meme. Clean install of Kunbuntu, didn't fuck with anything and I'm greeted with 50% CPU usage from just moving the mouse and all my fans running at full fucking speed while the computer is at idle. This shit didn't happen on windows.
I fell for the meme. Clean install of Kunbuntu...
try bsd
>ooga booga shit
your fault
correct, windows instead uses 50% of your bandwidth when idle to send telemetry data back to MS
We don't believe you.
>using KDE
>using Kubuntu
>using a DE
>using *buntu
Jow Forums did not tell you to do this
run debian with openbox, faget
this, shilling squad in force
even then, no way
remember, sage goes on all fields, shilld don't get paid when you do it.
Not shilling. I'm genuinely disappointed because I really wanted it to work so I don't get data mined constantly.
Stick a power meter between an electrical outlet and your computer's power cord. Run Linux. Run Windows.
You will observe like I did that Linux consumes 10 Watts less than Windows.
OP is full of shit.
You fucked up already the moment you said Kubuntu
Kubuntu is deprecated. Use KDE Neon.
Wonder why OP? Hint: you just claimed something outrageous without what? Surely you'll know what and provide what's necessary now.
openSUSE is the KDE distro of choice.
kubuntu is bloated dogshit. Try debian or arch
Honestly, for ease of use just try Xubuntu.
Mess around with the panel for 5 minutes and you'll have an OS pretty close to windows
>KDE + Ubuntu
>wonders why the CPU is hogged
>implying debian isn't bloated
what about antergos
now it's the time for fine tuning your Linux
Where is the screenshot?
really?
Just installed lxle and it's running great on a single core with 1gb of ram
Get some proper working hardware you dunce.
Install a Graphics driver lol
nvidia is not a frien of linus operational sistem sir
>ooboontoo
We told you:
- Arch
- Debian
- Gentoo
But you didn't listen.
spot the tinfoil
And when I installed windows yesterday my brandbew computer exploded and my keyboard started typing on it's own.
How do you explain this OP?
Install Antergos or Void Distro
>These distros are Light as Arch but much easier to install
& Pick a lighter Desktop Environment
such as LXDE or XFCE
>Openbox is even lighter but it's trickier to install.
>i3 is the best tiling DE, it uses lots of keyboards shortcuts & less the mouse.
KDE is the 2nd most heavy and bloated DE after Gnome
Install linux mint cinnamon mate
Don't listen to the faggots in this thread OP. Arch and Gentoo and even regular Debian will kick your ass. The problem is clearly that the specific combination you have isn't compatible to some of your hardware. If you're set on Kubuntu, try and download new graphics drivers and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, install regular Ubuntu and manually install KDE (it's really easy, like installing a package). If you're not set on KDE I personally would reccomend Ubuntu with XFCE - it's a light weight and highly customizable DE that usually doesn't have any problems (some people get screen tear with it, this is fixed by installing Compton). You can get Xbuntu or Ubuntu and manually install XFCE yourself. Hope one of these works.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, honestly just abandon Ubuntu altogether and go for Mint. It's as user friendly, less bloated and has no and will never have botnet. It's based on Debian just like Ubuntu is.
dont listen to this guy, he's full of shit.
install gentoo and use i3 like a real man.
Ooga Booga Linux (Ubuntu & its "flavors") are utter trash
Install a decent distro such as Manjaro, openSUSE or Fedora for God's sake
>install linux
>update
>5GB update
>everything downloads finally
>error, confict: xtce4.engrampa already exists
what a god damn pile of shit manjaro is
Manjaro is just antergos for monkeys who can't use google, and antergos is for monkeys who can't install arch.
Antergos is garbage that STILL does not have a proper installer that actually works
the only reason I don't install arch manually after the first few times is because I'm tired of setting up the DE and session manager
antergos doesn't have a proper installer because it wants the user experience to be faithful to arch
lolled
when you google that error message you'll find that the solution is as easy as renaming a file
My first linux distro was Kubuntu. Switched to Linux Mint Cinnamon after two days.
Mint feels comfy af.
Only bad thing I experienced is that it takes 2 minutes to shut down for some reason...
>Only bad thing I experienced is that it takes 2 minutes to shut down for some reason...
This is a serious problems imo
Shit for me, too.
When I log out and then shut down, it takes 2-3 seconds. Something in the background is delaying the shutdown.
