It's still so aesthetic.
Why can't we have an updated one of these?

>Why can't we have an updated one of these?
because the display is smaller than the face of the phone

Still works, but 2g is dead
I remember the day I got it, good times (2002~2003)

But that's a good thing, its a portable device and larger screens use battery quicker.
Why did things have to turn out this way?

i'm not sure what model it was, but it was a late 90's nokia
it was similar in appearance to it had a textured purple face plate, and took a full size sim card
i'm not 100%, but i'm pretty sure it had just a character display, no snek

because markets shift, no longer do people want to carry things separately when they can just keep one device and one cable?

when the V3 came out, chances are you had a small digital point and shoot, an ipod for music and the V3. (not tryna shit on the phone lol i always wanted one) but now with smartphones you can literally do all those on one device, not even including the incremental technological ""advancements"" that lead to better image sensors etc.

for the "normie" the smartphone makes so much more sense, look at it this way: you could literally not own a computer and be completely fine in 2018 (given your work is menial or work provides one for you in the office). for laquisha working 7-11 or scott still reminiscing his frat days the smartphone is a solid "invention" lol

You must be at least 18 years old to post on Jow Forums

I can't even remember.

This was the phone I used for longest.

My first mobile phone was a Dancall mobile phone from the early 90s, which ran on the NMT network at 450MHz - I wish I recalled the model number of it.

So as an addendum to , my dad just confirmed that the NMT network was shut down in 1992, so it must've been 1991 that I bought my phone in, because I remember it needing to be services to get it to run on the GSM network which was just introduced then.
That also made it capable of sending SMS messages.

"I was only pretending to be retarded"

This, though I switched to 3310 pretty quick.

That one. I had some sweet faceplates

this one. it was absolutely disgusting for basic needs like sms, phone calls, but i could play doom on it, launch some 3D stuff and browse internet. Pretty swag smartphone for 2007
