>all these options to choose from

>Ridiculous, the ecosystem is too partitioned. We should make a distro that standardizes everything!

>all of them are shit

>99% of them use the exact same base system, including systemd

And they are all source compatible and even binary compatible (on the same architecture)
Impressive engineering.

and?

>310 distros are shitty
Install gentoo

Show us your gentoo.

>Makes another distro hoping it will be the standard
This is literally why we have so many you negroid. Stop making new shit

>gtk is your best option
so this is what no central planning looks like

And none of them work the way they should

Yeah, you copied that number from distrowatch what includes BSD, Kolibri, MINIX and other systems too. Good job being a complete idiot.

46, but dropped some

Puppy(desktop?)
* Tiny Core Linux
* Quirky
* Fatdog64 Linux

Slackware(good)
* Plamo Linux
* Absolute Linux
* Zenwalk
* AUSTRUMI
* Vector Linux
* Salix
* Slackel

Devuan(if it is like old Debian, not bad, but not great)
* Star
* Refracta

Gentoo Linux(famous, probably good)
* Funtoo
* Exherbo
* Redcore
* Calculate Linux

Source mage GNU/Linux(gentoo like)
actually used this one for test ride,
but I don't know how to set DEFAULT compile flags so it doesn't asks every time, otherwise nice

CRUX(seems similiar to Slackware, good?)
* Kwort

Arch(w/o systemd)
* Artix
* ArchBang
* Obarun
* Parabola?
* Hyperbola

Void(famous, maybe good)

MX Linux - no idea
PCLinuxOS - no idea
4MLinux - no idea
NuTyX - no idea
Slitaz - no idea
Pisi Linux - no idea
LinuxConsole - no idea
Vine linux - no idea
Cucumber linux - no idea
PLD Linux - no idea
UHU-Linux - no idea

Android-x86 - is it even linux?
GoboLinux - is it this one that has non-standard FSH?

>and every one fails to document small changes properly

That's the joke he was making you fucking dick head

Attached: standards.png (500x283, 24K)

And none of them is good. Amazing if you think about it.

>freedom to choose confuses the winfaggot

>311 distros
>and none usable

200+ of them are Ubuntu with an autism powered desktop mod.

Most of them based from half a dozen main distros

This is why loonix will never succeed. Manchildren with overinflated ego cannot collaborate, they will never make something of value.

>Void(famous, maybe good)
Void is really good and has very sane defaults
>GoboLinux - is it this one that has non-standard FSH?
yep they try to keep every package in its own directory via some symlink trickery

but you forgot the best of all: Linux From Scratch

LFS isn't a distro, it's a book

Gentoo
Debian
Arch
Ubuntu(kys)
Thats all that matters

Nope.The reason Linux will never succeed is because whenever they are on the cusp of accomplishing something, some whiny fuckface decides it's not good enough and starts some new project to replace it and the cycle starts all over again.I saw an article somewhere that showed numerous examples of this throughout Linuxs history. One example that stands out is Wayland.

You only need a one distro: Crux.

how is wayland an example of that?
are you saying X11 is "on the cusp of accomplishing something"? as that's not the case, X11 is well past is use-by date, it's frankly impressive what has been done already with it, but at this point is just that thing which gets in the way of the modern extensions, and makes basic things like locking with a menu open impossible
and if you're thinking Mir, wayland predates it

>not posting the real logo

Attached: 1505880523780.png (758x435, 63K)

Not everyone uses bloat gnu you dumb fuck

Ubuntu LTS with everything default is literally all you need, just fuckin works so you can do work

>All this freedom
No complaints desu. The best rise to the top in popularity anyways

Arguably also fedora and openPEPE

I think they might be referring to Wayland being a work in progress that was possibly forced on us before it was at an acceptable stage of development. If so, I tend to agree.

Still doesn't change the fact that there are way to many distros then needed
Most of which are generic "Ubuntu-based beginner friendly" garbage that die after a year or so of activity.
Imagine if the devs of 200 of these distros would help out with software development instead. Shit would be so much better.

Why did you filter out the systemd once?
With systemd there's a 160.
Is that enough?

>311 distros
>ridiculous. One distro to standardize everything.
>312 distros.

>> 311 distros
Only 10 systemd free.

>XKCD

Attached: CFE45493-DCAB-49FD-B19F-F2C02A6AE587.jpg (376x376, 37K)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with systemd. There's a reason why everyone uses it.

The 10 outdated ones.

But that requires actual effort instead of sticking software together.

>200+ of them are Debian with an autism powered desktop mod.

fixed

>billions of flies eat shit, you can't be wrong!
Either you are a dupe or an NSA nigger. And you sound too stupid to be an NSA nigger.

>to many
*too many

systemd is pretty useful
not saying theres "nothing wrong" with it but it's way better than rc scripts and a long time coming

>a literal unauditable humongous nsa backdoor is way better than a small and sane config set
dupe confirmed

>source code available
>literal backdoor
thx mate gl running alpine and wayland

Stop poettering plz, systemd=botnet

so is it a backdoor or a botnet?
what lines of code are you referring to?

>over a million sloc's and counting
>from uncertified sources
>merged in daily by "ex"-nsa personnel
>for a fucking init system
>that runs services as fucking root when it barfs on a username
por qué no los dos?

> 311 distros
> 141 based on Debian
> 21 based on Arch
> 12 based on Gentoo
> 15 based on RedHat
> 4 based on Mandriva
> 4 based on SUSE

you can add that the only big difference between all of them are the package manager and the way they are updated

Attached: 3b61e801a7fcbd0b812e5c76798f8256a04f531902581c65d105d2a36cdd056e.png (1749x1656, 343K)

That's why Crux is the best.

BASED
DEBIAN

distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=major

Having options isn't a bad thing.
And you're counting BSDs as Linux Distros.
And there are really only 7/8 that are relevant.
>Debian
>Ubuntu
>Red Hat's distros
>SUSE's stuff
>Arch
>Gentoo
The rest, half are basically some flavor of Debian and/or Ubuntu with some customized tools or based, the rest are based around the ones I listed.
And somewhere in the middle you get Mageia and PCLinuxOS, which I don't really get how they're still an active project.

found the whiny fuckface

.rpm is redhat package management, or something like that.

>>over a million sloc's and counting
>>from uncertified sources
>>merged in daily by "ex"-nsa personnel
How is this different than the Linux kernel exactly?
Install OpenBSD

The worst part of this is the fact that many distros are made because "the previous one fucked up one thing I didn't liked", and at the same time, the final product ruins something the replaced distro did just fine.

Fix something, break something else. This is one of the reasons why I stopped caring for Linux distros

>MX linux

debian

i'm starting another one that doesn't seem like enough

Welp, better make my own distro

how about we make this easy on everyone
