The screen is only 15.4 inches, but the res is pretty good for the size. I do pretty well navigating. It barely took a day to get used to everything.

i tried to use dwm on my thinkpad but the screen is too small. a 27" 4k monitor on a desktop pc might be good enough for what i want.

What elements of dwm made you the screen feel inadequacy?

the most annoying thing was the firefox filepicker that did not display properly. the buttons were outside the visible area and theres no way to resize the window

-1 for Manjaro, don't use a fork OS.
+1 for your i3bar, looks good if a bit cluttered.
-1 for your font, it's small and ugly. Use an IBM font or Monaco.
-1 for over 700 packages, you don't need that much.
+1 for i3, it's a good tiling wm.
-1 for Chromium, it's google shit.
-1 for Atom, it's a piece of crap.
