People who own Apple products either can afford them or can't afford them but take out loans.
The only people who take out loans are extremely poor both in terms of money and brain cells. There aren't a lot of people who are this stupid, even among the poor.
Thus, most people who own Apple products can afford them, making them "rich" (so low middle class, roughly).
Owning Apple doesn't MAKE you rich. In fact, most rich people use Android, but a lot of poor people use Android too, so knowing that someone uses Android isn't as useful for guessing if they're rich or not, as knowing they own Apple.
In other words, if you want to show the world you're rich, you buy Apple. If you're actually rich, you buy hot secretaries.
