Why have sarb prices gone up like $100 in past year?

because seiko thinks people will pay $2000 for a $500 watch
did the mod massacre the watch threads? wtf happened overnight?

>did the mod massacre the watch threads? wtf happened overnight?
yeah we are in purgatory now ;_;

what shall become of us

Attached: windychrono.jpg (391x500, 31K)

maybe the same mod who decided beer and wine should be banned from /ck/

Seiko stopped making them. The same movement can be found in certain Presages at a much higher price point. Some retailers in Japan still have SARBs and have them on sale in order to liquidate, probably under pressure from Seiko. I picked a 033 up a few weeks ago for $300 and have seen at least two others since then in random shops.

that stinks

i like them

Same, I wanted to get an Alpinist too but those are impossible to find here.

The cocktail time presages look pretty good and offer value, but the SARB outclasses them all day.

What Swiss or German watch companies aren't run by Jews?

>aren't run by Jews?

>Swiss or German

>>Swiss or German
>>not jews

Good question, actually. The few german ones are buying their movements from the swiss (eta, etc..), so not only you need to scan for jewish management, but also for where the parts come from.

The swiss, well, most of the luxury swiss watchmakers are in a conglomerate (LVMH, Swatch group, etc...). And most of these groups are as jewish as you can be.

Stick with the japs or if you really need a watch from a kikish company, buy it used, so they dont get your money, at least.
You could also search for small, independant watchmakers.

Good morning /wt/.

>Henry WInston
>H is filled like the D in DW
Didn't know Swatch group used the fashion shitter formula.

Maybe DW copied it, i dont know. But with calvin klein, they have a fashion shitter right there.
Watch companies (or almost all modern companies) would sell you shit in a bag, if they could market it right. They dont have any principles left in them.

>Watch companies (or almost all modern companies) would sell you shit in a bag, if they could market it right. They dont have any principles left in them.
Think about the new Timex Marlin or collectible swatches kek.

What's the general opinion of Stowa? Reliable? I noticed many of their lower tier models use 2824.

Attached: stowa caseback.jpg (1690x3295, 1.31M)

Out of all these brands maybe Glashütte and Certina doesn't suck total dick.

Attached: seiko.jpg (900x583, 164K)

How do you thematically organize your collection wt?

>What Swiss or German watch companies aren't run by Jews?
There is literally nothing wrong with being ethnically or spiritually Jewish. Moses was the precipice of modern, Western Civilization as we know it.

my collection

rolex is for sale

That's a noob daytona, nice try

>Is ETA reliable?

>>/watchuseek/

more of the GS plz

>waterproof, sturdy vs. non-waterproof, fragile
>can just pick up and put on vs. needs winding, time and date setting, etc.
>hot, cold, rainy weather straps
>needs an accurate time source after a few days or not
>autistic or socially acceptable
Pic is one of the jack-of-all trades watches I have, quartz, water resistant (had it tested), day-date, good-looking, sturdy build, comfy bracetel etc.

God exists, but he is not the false god that people imagined, just to control the dumb people.

Is there anything more pathetic that an automatic movement downgraded to manual wind? At least those krauts should have sourced a movement that was designed to be manually wound in the first place.

Attached: as-1914.jpg (1600x1200, 255K)

Fuck, wrong pic, that's just a busted-up, old swivel-lug Amphibia.

Attached: IMG_20180526_125115_HDR.jpg (3264x2448, 1.21M)

Oh NEIN, we can not ze do that! We at stowa dont want to invest a single cent more than its needed to. Ze ETA's were cheaper and god forbid that we would have to invest any money in modernizing helbros movements for our watches.

But seriously, helbros is closed, or am i mistaking sth.? ETA is just cheap and easy to hike up the prices. Most of the market has agreed upon similar price segments and some watches are staying in these margins. Its all a game to milk the retarded customer.

>But seriously, helbros is closed
Even that movement is Swiss. It's an AS1914.

>thinner watches are for cucks
t. the situation from jersey shore

Are slide rule bezel autistic ?

I want a watch with a pastel colored dial hopefully affordable

You guys know some models to buy?

Attached: rave.jpg (800x600, 56K)

That's not what I said, you fucking dumb nigger.

Ordered one of these. I might stray from watches to "anything that has a clock in it" territory. Will take it apart and post pics when it arrives. I definitely want to get the clock running.

Apparently older lighters with hand-winding analog watch movements exist, but they're kinda expensive just for a goof.

Attached: lcd_lighter.jpg (1000x925, 146K)

I mean look at this shit!

I wonder if that 17 jewel movement is like a proper quality watch movement or just some pin-pallet abomination.

Attached: swank_lighter.jpg (679x1200, 141K)

>I might stray from watches to "anything that has a clock in it"
Look at stopwatches too, they're neat.

>Is there anything more pathetic that an automatic movement downgraded to manual wind?
Is there any real, pratical problem with that?
Stowa makes Unitas 6498 fliegers too.
oh wow

Attached: Stowa_MOcb_002.jpg (1024x768, 172K)

I like the Unitas for how old-school simple it is, but damn those jews at ETA sure do overprice them!

A 6498 isn't literally an automatic movement with the rotor bits ripped off, with the holes in the bridges still present.

The Thai cashier in the mall's food court had a desk calculator that showed the time when not used. Now I want one.

if it's not a rolex, take a short walk of a long pier

>if it's not a rolex, take a short walk of a long pier

Post your Rolex

no practical use. buy a chronograph and dump it.

Which One

hello /wt/ what is a fair price to shell out for pic related? assuming that it is serviced, but without box and papers. Original metal belt is included

Terrifying

You are just Jelly

Model # would help. From looks alone and the fact it seems like a pretty standard 21 jewel seiko automatic...$50-$75?

Citizen Eco Drive AW1360-55E

thanks for opinion, looks quite nice but I found €250 this guy is asking for as waay over the top. Looks like I will pass this one
uhrforum.de/seiko-7006-8002-a-t358614

Didn't mean to copy your post in, talking to used seiko guy.

That being said that citizen looks like a decent budget alternative to a hamilton khaki.

Attached: 654sdg654s6df54.jpg (2016x1512, 682K)

I mean it's vintage but that does seem over the top unless Seiko collectors place a good value on it. I'd rather buy a presage or find a SARB at that price point.

Thoughts on ana-digi watches?
Post your favourite ana-digi.

Attached: IMG_20180624_194230.jpg (3120x4160, 3.2M)

Why are there no Casio Duro 200s available in Europe? And the white dial version seems untraceable. Guess they thought it canabilized too much..

This is the best ana-digi

Attached: Screenshot_20180404-101306.jpg (1407x814, 633K)

Attached: casio_ae-9w.jpg (400x500, 44K)

This is a interesting concept, but I would prefer having both the analog and lcd displays on the same side.
Definitely better than my Casio though, can't argue with that.

What the fuck bro?

Jow Forums can't afford nice watches so posts their shitters and tries justify it with technical arguments
/fa/ posts watches simply because they look good.

>watches simply because they look good.

If any of the seven or however many Toronto regulars we have wanted to see something ny collection I'll be up there this weekend.

Attached: 20170625_153214-4032x3024.jpg (4032x3024, 1.84M)

yeah, Jow Forums is exactly this.

Which Orient is that? Damn I was gonna get a black Orient but the blue looks real nice in your pic.

(not him)
Orient Ray II

I like the Ray 2 Mako 2 and the TriStar. Too many choices even in the same brand.

>not appreciating the horological virtues of 7S26, with Balance Wheel™ and Escapement™ and Mainspring™

Obviously you don't know SHIT about horology

Blue Ray II. Pretty watch considering Jap shitter status.

Attached: wet4tegertydfd.jpg (1719x1671, 685K)

Do the date and day jump or are they slow like a Seiko?

I think I'll wear this one tomorrow.

Is one Elnix enough, /wt/? I already have like four-five Cosmotrons.

Attached: IMG_20180305_153924.jpg (3264x2448, 1.02M)

I have an old shitter Orient, it's probably the same movement, and it's a slow change.

Yes, one elnix is enough. Get a cosmotron gx.

Slowfam. Considering the $140ish price tag I'm not real upset.

I want to start buying cheap NATOs in bulk from some dealer in Alibaba and reselling for profit on eBay

Is there anything that can go wrong?

You'd be stuck with a shitload of cheap ass NATO straps that no one wants.

even small sellers sell their stuff fast
just look on ebay on a random smol one

might be a gun

*charges you $3,000 for a valjoux 7750 equipped chronograph*

Attached: sinn.jpg (700x220, 14K)

It's radioactive, should be careful with those radium dials.

US customs are shit hot on random stuff, it's possible the seller put a random sticker on the box like "this way up" or something similar just trying to be helpful not knowing that causes people to think it's dangerous goods.

Or it could be nothing.

Poorfag here, does your girl wear watches too? Its not often that i see women wearing watches
