More like what software for the bar? The windowing portion is simple shit; presenting data in the bar in a clean fashion is hard as fuck.
awesome comes with everything you could possibly need out of the box and the defaults are 99% great.
t. mostly-vanilla awesome user since 2009
this comic seems overrated.
still following it for lesbian shipping though
awesome seems to like breaking my multimonitor setup (displayport will randomly be rotated, etc) and is just a pain in the ass in general. i'll stick to kde

Bspwm
Nice quad
That's such a cute little spider OP. Thanks for posting.

i3, the defaults are just so much more sane. Except for the 'jkl;' keys for navigation.
polybar. still missing a few features I'd like, and could easily implement with a userscrip. but theme support is more than enough for me.
openbox/lxde desu
>Where's Waldo
all over the place :^)

I tried bspwm once...never going to waste my time on it again.
The way it handle multi monitor systems is laughably bad, and its more annoying to configure than i3.
It doesn't even have a tabbed/stacked layout option.
>tabbed/stacked layout option.
Maybe because it's not a tabbed/stacked WM? It's a tiling WM, you fucking clot.
Multihead works fine, learn to fucking configure.
No problem with triple monitors here, not sure what problems you had...
>doesn't even have a tabbed/stacked layout option
Which is a good thing for a tiling wm. This shit is the reason I don't use sway.

I'm usually really afraid of spiders but that one is very cute.
nazi faggot only killed 6 miliion retard
attempt to look cute != cute
He didn't kill a single Jew you indoctrinated cuck.

I3 if you have a laptop and don't want to use a mouse
awesome = autism
Openbox if you don't mind using a mouse

No gas chamber can fit so many Jews

Xmonad is the only tiling wm that handles multimonitor setups.

Post more cute spiders
thank user

Has anyone tried to use Sway?
Openbox if you want a window manager similar to windows. Really comfy. i3 or awesome if you want somethin more keyboard drivin
Just a reminder that awesome supports titlebars and floating windows (i think it's the default nowadays).
So does I3
If you're just going to use it as a floating/stacking WM, what advantage does it give over Openbox for people who don't already know/want to learn Lua?
This is why I just gave up and installed Xfce with whiskermenu and plugins. It's pseudo-tiling anyway.
- Built-in systray
- Built-in basic notification support
- Built-in searchable "applications" menu (Mod4+p)
- Supports snapping
- Supports making a window fullscreen (not just maximized)
Plus if you ever feel like using tiling you won't have to learn/install a another thing.
