The bay area is actually boring as shit. Great food, lots of money to be had, networking is ridiculously easy, but theres nothing interesting. No tech other than the occasional google cars. It's all suburb except for downtown SF, which is tiny and is a stinky shithole. It couldve been a tech megalopolis if it wasn't for NIMBY fuckers, yet public transportation still sucks donkey cock. San Jose is one of the most boring cities ever. Oakland is Oakland.
In Seattle, Amazon built up all of north downtown and its quite nice. In SV, the big companies just sit in their own little and minds their own business.

It's not just the tech companies making the area suck. The Chinese buy a lot of investment properties that they never live in, don't rent out, and do a very minimal amount of of maintenance on. It drives up costs because it tightens the housing market, but also makes it hard for the neighbors to move because no one will want to buy anything on a street where there are yards that look like the Serengeti.
Any blue state, regardless of your beliefs. Or if you're not the typical Californian, maybe consider moving to a Republican state we may lose because of all the other Californians moving out but voting for all the things that made California a shithole in the first place.

The most basic necessities such as access to quality free education, quality free healthcare, and housing provided by social security don't exist there.
