Massdrop x HIFIMAN HE4XX currently on Massdrop for $169. Good price? Good headphones? Anyone know anything about them? I don't have an AMP and these will be my first and only pair of headphones for a while.

Forgot to mention that I'll pretty much only be listening to these in my room. Pretty quiet, only real noise is my ceiling fan and a portable air conditioner in the window about 7 feet away.

Here is my issue with Harman curve - it's made and tested only for music. It's very narrow for what headphones used these days. I wish they made same research for gaming, i'm pretty sure up to 70% of headphones purchased for games.

3. planars are a little peculiar, so they need an amp most of the time
just get HD579 or even SHP9500 as a safer all rounder headphone
