these are floating windows?

Best ITT. I think everyone else doesn't realise that your fucking GUI should not look like the ugly code that was used to make it. Even your terminal looks self-contained in that respect, being a minimal but still nice looking exception to the GUI.

I don't like your taskbar font or something else about it though, it doesn't look stylish.

mod + space

Attached: desktop.png (2560x1440, 669K)

sorry, mod + shift + space

nice retro
amazing, one of my fav rices of all time. using ur colors rn
nice colors and music player. u should change the purple bar and inactive borders to the last color on the neofetch colors bar and the active window border to the first neofetch color on the colors bar, and maybe make the borders a lil thiccer

haven't been on Jow Forums for some time. are desktop threads allowed again?

asking if desktop threads are allowed is not allowed

Unsure if this gray is light enough to count as pastel.

Attached: desktop_2018_jun_11.png (1600x900, 159K)

these are cool

makin progress i think

Nice desktops

I want to try herbstluftwm but the verbiage of their read.me always baffles me. I get the idea of using a binary tree system to express fibonacci, but it reads like alienese.

i would highly recommend it, the frames are a little goofy at first but once understand tiling inside of frames its amazing

>nice retro
thanks, have another one

Attached: 2k.png (1680x1050, 211K)

amazing
looking good, u should put the center the music on the bottom bar
nice colors
this is great

Attached: scrot_2018-07-12-33_1366x768.png (1366x768, 432K)

>thanks, have another one
wow are these both u? if so thats awesome

i had it centered but i got tired of the buttons jumpin all around when skipping songs :c
bottom left needs somethin

yeah, planning to do more

here's another one i had, currently put in storage to make space for more. also my first 939 machine

Attached: 1528306496569.png (1680x1050, 1.75M)

The other thing I don't follow is calling commands to the herbs client

Attached: desktop.jpg (1920x1080, 840K)

thats so dope
if u mean by using herbstclient on the command line u dont really have to because u set the commands u need to keybinds

>i had it centered but i got tired of the buttons jumpin all around when skipping songs :c
ah that makes sense
>bottom left needs somethin
i agree. hey try this i think this looks better, u might to, go to ur neofetch config and go to # Color block range and set it to
start=8
end=15

Is it possible to use multiple mod keys? Like mod1=alt mod2=win

never thought of that, just tried it. didnt work

Attached: 2018-07-05-173911_1366x768_scrot.png (1366x768, 577K)

Aw. I really like that feature in i3.

fuk it, looks better centered
added some networkamajigs to bottom left

I like this. kde4 was one of the first desktop environments I ever used on linux and seeing the oxygen theme is just incredibly nostalgic to me

>the means by which we interface with technology isn't itself technology

Oxygen - forever! KDE - the best of DE...

how's the screen tearing on cinnamon?

relatively fresh install of lb 14.04, so it's not much to talk about. spending a couple'a days outside of my house, which is why having something that's lightweight and relatively OOTB was a good idea. sorta.
also--goddamn, was Face Value always this good? tracks are a great mix of comfy and bangin'.

Could you explain to a brainlet like me how to change the distro image?

if you wanna change the ASCII art itself, run 'neofetch --ascii_distro {distroname}'. e.g. 'neofetch --ascii_distro gentoo'.
if you wanna use an image instead, install w3m + w3m-img then run 'neofetch --w3m /path/to/img'.

Debian box.

Thanks user, may good luck be on your path!

The one build into ncmpcpp, if you're running it then press 8 or f8.

Have you ever gotten OWacomp installed?
OpenLook was the best Unix desktop.
Also, does your suspend/hibernate work? if so what hardware?

How do you guys consider this "UI design" when none of your shit has any window widgets?

>use tiling manager
>manually resize shit like a faggot
these threads are the worst

hi

Attached: Screen Shot 2017-12-03 at 11.32.04 PM.png (1920x1080, 3.44M)

That's not a tiling window manager, though.
