remove every retarded youtube celebrity

force redirect every video link to Morrakiu and the merchant minute re-runs.

will make the user interface fast

rm -rf / --no-preserve-root

Remove anything that’s not pro-heterosexuality and pro-white.

Fire the women and gay niggs

Shift the company to a hands-off approach and only ban illegal content.

Demonetize/ban clickbait garbage

Stop paying anyone

This.
We don't need youtube when facebook exists

Gas the kikes and forcibly play Triumph des Willens nonstop.

No monotization for anyone

correct answer. youtube shouldn't exist

We don't need either of them

quads of truth but that would kill yt

Curate the front page with actual humans rather than algorithms. It's not uncommon for the default (no login or pre-existing cookies) YouTube home page to be full of literal nonsense (fake interviews with time travelers is a popular one).

I roll the codebase back to 2008.

Enjoy bankruptcy.
99.999% is clickbait

You must be one hell of a special boy....

allow porn

Who cares, why keep shit alive just to keep it alive?

This desu

I'd add a $5 membership option where you an upload as much as you want. If also add the patreon features so each YouTube account

I'd also add porn.youtube.com

Set the playback speed randomly between 95% and 105% on some videos.
Overlay comments on top of the video NND-style.
Switch around the mobile layout and the desktop one.
Require users to solve a captcha for every video they want to watch.
Basically make the site as shit as humanly possible.

get new sponsors, allow all content except porn

Sell it to Moot.

drop like/dislike and reimplement stars

- Remove all JavaScript shit and substitute with anything else
- Implement Device Auto-detect (auto-detecting browser whether it's mobile or desktop/laptop, and also OS)
- Implement two design formats that auto-set for the above auto-detect, one for touchscreen shit and other for pointer-friendly shit
- Bring back "Latest Uploads" function with normal pagination that goes on forever.
All vids uploaded at that second of that minute of that hour by anyone on all of YouTube.
- Subscriptions page remains by date format - recently uploaded descending order.
- Fix subscriptions.
- Fix notifications for comments.
- Remove Suggested Channels/Videos diarrhea and only implement "Currently trending in current region and genre/subgenere".

Find the 2010 backup and revert to that. That's it. It even had HTML5 player.

Put it on IPFS

I forgot about those. Much better than this thumbs up/down shit.

OH god, I completely forgot... There were stars!

Attached: 1531227688069.gif (255x235, 498K)

I would use this star rating

Drop all of the stupid rules for demonetization of videos so people can still get paid if they say "fuck" or shoot a gun, so that people aren't stuck dealing with "this video is sponsored by..." crap from the content creators. In fact, I'll straight up demonetize any video that does that sponsorship bullshit. People that use ad blocking or pay for Youtube red shouldn't have to put up with that shit. Monetizing of videos IS their sponsorship. That's what the commercials placed by YouTube are for and that's why YT pays them to make videos with lots of views.

Second, I'd dump the algorithm that pays them dependent on how long people watch each video. That's bullshit too. The viewer, if not ad-blocking or paying for Red, already watched the damn commercial, they saw the ad space the advertisers paid me for, so the content creators ought to get paid since they drew in the eyeballs to the ad space.

Finally, no more copyright claim shit unless someone is blatantly using the work of others to make money. If you use a short clip of a movie while reviewing it, or plays an awesome song in the background, whatever! As long as they cite their sources so people can check out the material they used.

I guess I would really just cut down on the greed and censorship.

I'd remove signing in for age restrictions. Instead you'd have to do what you do for a Discord NSFW chat - "Yep I wanna see this shit mate" and you're in. I'd make you able to post comments as an Anonymous user similar to Jow Forums but you'd need an account to post videos. Just my thoughts on how you could make YouTube appear to a demographic that values its privacy.

The current CEO would like that.

I don't think YouTube can really be fixed. It's never made money even with the changes they have made. Fixing "the algorithm" is a tough task which may as well be impossible because no one can agree what needs to be done. I do think YouTube "culture" had higher points in the past but there have always been problems. At the end of the day streaming and storing videos is fucking expensive and there's no way to monetize it.

I will say that YouTube never recommends me the shit I actually want to watch. Maybe make it so that people who don't upload multiple times a week and have less than 10,000 subscribers or whatever have a decent chance of showing up on the feed. The bias towards regular uploads is a big reason YouTube is so devoid of high effort content lately.

This, disband YT from Google and this is a perfect plan.

Rollback to last year interface at least. The new one is fucking cancer.

> Remove all JavaScript shit and substitute with anything else

bruh

Get the fuck out poo, every single software with shit performance has one thing in common: written in PooScript.

get rid of the hate speech policy in regards to "protected minorities". Stop peddling faggot shit.

based

disable the ability for content creator to earn money

and at one point actual embed reply videos

If you drop the stupid demonetization rules then advertisers won't stay and YouTube will hemmorhage even more money than it already does.

The watch time thing is BS, but the alternative is worse. Before that youtubers were incentivized even moreso than now to make clickbait where the title and thumbnail would be completely irrelevant to the video, usually some tits were involved. People would watch literally 10 seconds, realize the video wasn't what it was sold as and click off, but because millions of people did that those videos would shoot to the top. If everyone is doing that the whole website suffers, less people want to make worthwhile videos, and less people want to click on videos in the first place.

Third problem is more to do with copyright holders than YouTube itself. YouTube isn't the one demonetizing copyrighted shit it is the copyright holders using algorithms and ignoring fair use. To be fair YouTube could do a better job in siding with the uploader by default but that probably has it's own pitfalls.

Things are not as easy to solve as all that.

> software written in javascript

bruh

He works for Google, you cuck.

Get rid of googfuck

Rewrite YouTube with Hack. The two only sites which don't lag: Facebook and Wikipedia, have that as a common point.

if we're being serious

1. Remove like/dislikes
2. Allow people to customize their channels like before
3. Create a group feature so people can talk about and share videos
4. Merge the trending and home page together
5. Make the creator studio less awful
6. Remove the discussion page since it's pointless

Live playlist: Add videos to play right next the one you're watching. Be able to search for other videos while you watching one like on mobile (it doesn't work like that on desktop).

Some stupid social network and office/production tools: Creators can stay in contact with their audience and team all through youtube and you can spy on what they are doing/planning so you can make a move to profit of it.

Dark theme: my eyes hurt.

There is a dark theme though?

+ Paywall uploads: something like 25 10min videos for free users, unlimited for premium users, also all limits on uploads shall be bypass-able by one time fee as well. This is not to make a profit - this is simply to limit all the trash kids and normals just upload for no reason that no one watches.
+ fix subscriptions
+ Integrate patreon
+ Add back video replies
+ Make dislikes do something other than promote the video, albeit less than likes
+ Make recomendations somewhat less view-biased
+ Make auto-playlists more contextual and less repeats of the things you've already seen/heard
- Make javascript botnet optional
- Stop censorship
- Remove trending: Useless since the front page is already highly views-biased
- stop doing originals: Useless expense

The front page is related to everything you've seen unless you dont have an account. Paywall uploads will just limit content. Dont watch something if you dont want because that content may have value to others even if in comedic form. Sometimes people also upload videos exclusively to show something to their freinds.

This.

Demonitize everything.

Remove region restrictions.

Permaban every company that makes more than 3 fraudulent copyright claims.

Uncouple YouTube from the global Google Account.

Add option to disable recommendations.

Disable autoplay, captions and comments by default.

Donate Google's share of ad revenue to the EFF.

Buy YouPorn.

Yes, this will all cause YouTube to lose money. Deal with it. You're Google.

Suck my reddit spacing.

Attached: youtube co-founder knows google's bullshit.png (901x441, 71K)

I tell advertisers to either fuck off or deal with the chance that their content might land places they don't want. Since I'm the gatekeeper of a huge market, they will have to bend the knee.

Bring back 5 star rating system. Enable dislike on comments.

Remove features and add useless privacy intrusive crap just to say I did.

Bandwidth and server costs saved would keep it afloat.

>If you drop the stupid demonetization rules then advertisers won't stay
Doubt it. Commercial TV can be about almost anything and still get adverts, for example shows about preppers with lots of guns, war movies or documentaries. Or movies featuring rape and torture.

The only thing that sticks out is pro-right wing political content (as opposed to documentaries or fiction featuring the far-right). The outrage about ads being shown on youtube is all manufactured outrage, and advertisers will probably just want people seeing their ads when the dust has settled. Youtube is growing, has almost no competition and traditional media is failing.

The better solution is instead of blocking ads on everything, let advertisers bid on the ad space on different types of content, there's surely, for example, gun-related stores that want to advertise on gun videos.

>The front page is related to everything you've seen unless you dont have an account.
Yes. So?
>Paywall uploads will just limit content.
That's my goal, to make the site at least less unprofitable. There's insane amounts of video being uploaded each minute and most of it will never get more than 10 views, simply because no one cares. 25, hell even 10 videos for free users is enough to enable organic growth.
>Sometimes people also upload videos exclusively to show something to their friends.
Yeah I do this, but it's very unprofitable for youtube. If I owned YT I'd want them to go away to streamable. Youtube has to transcode these videos into all kinds of formats, store them and back them up.

this

fuck vloggers

fuck clickbaiters

fuck numales and nufemales spilling their fucking lives on youtube like they're so fucking interesting and special

fuck monetization. Monetary interest is the death of good content. People with something goof to share and the passion for it will just do it in return for the exposure, like how many small, good websites and software are still maintained these days

fuck celebrity culture

Abandon Google

Fixing YouTube for what I'd like? Keep it roughly the same, make the rules less arbitrary, hire more humans.

Fixing YouTube as in making it actually profitable? Introduce a forced video revenue system that starts at -$5 (pay to upload) that can be earned back with ads, instantly culling 90% of the garbage on the site that is going to make it unsustainable in less than a decade.

Cut the video stream and inject 7 second ads every 6 minutes(adjustable by uploader to a 50s difference so it doesn't fuck up their rhythm)
Ads would be held to a bare minimum standard of photography, repeat no more than 2 times per day(companies can buy multiple spots but the videos must be significantly different), be tangentially related to ad tags selected by uploader, and no meme crap.
There, I just killed tv even more.

fix monetization, go harder on adblockers, remove politics from business decisions.

It's not that hard.

>delete

You say you doubt it but it already happened last year when a bunch of advertisers initiated the adpocalypse. YouTube depends on them not the other way around. They already do the thing where ads match up to videos too.

>Have youtube running always while at computer
>subscribe to 100+ channels
>adblockplus, ublockOrigin no ads ever
>subscriptions always show up
>add videos to watch later then just play that list

I don't understand what people bitch about. If you upload and expect to make money or a living your doing it though Patreon or merch. People need to lower there expectations of Google and stop thinking they can just upload shit and be famous.

Remove all rules.

Attached: 400.jpg (585x345, 109K)

>>>/reddit/ is that way faggot

stop paying people to create content to deliver ads

just force people to watch ads

I'd allow nudity and gay porn

What about the ratio between actual video length / average time watched? Ofcourse, barring edge cases.

The advertisers didn't initiate the apocalypse. YouTube did by not calling their bluff.

Despite YouTube being vulnerable for not making any profit, they have a huge market. Any advertiser leaving that market is retarded.

Too bad idiots didn't realize this.

Stop paying faggots and use that money to lo lobby against DMCA.

>Nyan Cat 2
Is nothing sacred anymore?

DMCA is turned from guilty-until-proven-innocent into innocent-until-proven-guilty.

Meaning DMCA claims don't automatically take down videos, go directly to the individual uploading the video, and YouTube takes no part in the process.

Enable dark theme on android.
Enable download for all videos.
It's perfect

Nothing, YouTube is a perfect system

This. Why does every single thing must be loaded after the page using JavaScript?

Sell it, or rather make it its own company.

All problems solved.

Wait. does Android not have the dark theme in YouTube? Google cares more about their iOS client then Android? Fucking lol.

I like you

Could it still be viable if instead of adds, they mined crypto while you watched?

get rid of their braindead pr team, and expunge some obnoxious e-celebs for my own reasons.

replace them with ppl to ban illegal content as well as overtly extreme politics (both nazism and antifa commies alike)

While star ratings are, in principle, better almost no-one ever rated anything but 1 or 5 stars.

Priority No 1: FIX THE RECOMMENDATIONS

Kick out Google, ads and monetization

I think that is a decent idea, or at least a better system than the way it is now. Videos would probably have to be over a certain length to qualify though.

>I LIKE VIDEO, 5 STARS
>I HATE VIDEO, 1 STARS

Stars are only good in Amazon or places when you can review stuff and actually make your arguments over why you gave it 1 or 3 or 5 stars.

Youtube literally doesn't need that. You either like the video or you don't.

That just lowers the vote weight of people who react rationally to content.
Like/dislike is already an excellent system, it's just that YouTube's algorithms are bad at interpreting the algorithms.
A video with a ratio below 10 shouldn't get hundreds of thousands of views, you have to be a scumbag making shitty content to get that low a ratio.
A video that's done extremely well can expect a ratio of 50.
YouTube will happily give a low-rated video more exposure than a high-rated one though, it just doesn't care about like/dislike ratios unless they're ultra-low (2 or lower).

The one issue with a like/dislike system is that a video that attracts a niche audience can achieve absurdly high ratings, because no one dislikes it but everyone likes it a little.
TTS-theme videos by StringStorm, for example, are viewed almost entirely by people hooked on the TTS series who liked the music and went looking for it; so the only dislikes they can get are from the few people who didn't find it via the TTS series, resulting in ratios of 500+.

delete everything start over

Reject DMCA whinings and retarded algorithms.

Make it anonymous so normalfags get removed.

Charge jewbook for putting url's from youtube.

*sanitize
you mean sanitize youtube

>Set the playback speed randomly between 95% and 105% on some videos.

Oof
