Don't EVER buy a rosewill psu
I've been buying Corsair psus and Corsair ram since forever, no issues, 7+ builds over 20 odd years
Their logo is fucking awesome and they hav a good reputation
Holy shit you sound like one of them fucking boomers
Two IBM 94Y5973 900W supplies in redundant mode. The total theoretical load of 550W is evenly spread among the two for maximum efficiency and thermals.
The most reliable single power supply is probably a Coolermaster masterwatt maker 1200. I personally like Seasonic.
*knocks top of power supply* Yup, they don't make them like that anymore.
This PSU has just worked for the better part of 10 years.. Since GPU's in the pic were the best you could get. I had one plug burn up on it, but I just bypassed it. It just works.
Got this for $30
Cool, but not being modular = your cable routing and guts look like
ABSOLUTE
DOG
SHIT
enjoy your housefire
That was when I had just thrown everything together, literally, 10 years ago. The case was also literally too big to run everything " behind " anything. But, whatever floats your goat :)
I have an evga g3, I'd recommend that or a seasonic. Avoid corsair
Seasonic
Corsair is overrated overpriced crap 85% of the time
Nah I'm good
>seasonic isn't
I bet you own a gold rated 1000W psu lol
EVGA, Seasonic or Superflower.
Avoid anything else.
what's the usb mini b for?
botnet
>all this corsair
You do realize they don't make them right? You don't actually know what you're getting. It could be something quality with a corsair sticker slapped on it or it could be garbage junktech with a corsair sticker slapped on it.
ax1600i
Seasonic fanless 520w
Seasonic 520 or 560w Gold. Not sure which wattage it is but Seasonic is best
>>no RGB bullshit
is that even a thing?
If you buy server PSUs.
Thermaltake is nice, I have a 500W 80+ PSU from them going on several years now, 2 years left on the warranty too.
Only down side is it's not modular.
>Their logo is fucking awesome
t. Manchild Boomer
Is EVGA just rebranded Seasonic PSUs?
Monitoring the ouput of watts and general info about the psu
Been using corsair since god knows how long now, i used some evga psus like the sr-2 i think and it just shitted on my pc and killed it, right now i use the corsair AX1600i
Superflower leadex gold 750w. I bought 750w as it was originally power a near 5ghz vishera cpu and a heavily pverclocked 290x which means at full load my system could pull over 500w and at the time there was a 600w model 750w was the next jump.
XFX XTR 650W here
used to have OCZ Stealthxstream2
>buy OCZ PSU
>buy OCZ SSD
>OCZ goes bankrupt
oops
Is pic related good deal for $99?
Currently I have amazon.com
no literally
youtube.com
The person in that video probably doesn't have their computer plugged into a UPS. Plugged straight into the wall most likely, and that's asking for some shiet like the capacitor exploding.
Same.
Bought mine in 2008 and has been using it ever since.
So he lives in a third-world then.
Because 1st-world doesn't have electrical problems.
I have this and the coil whine is audible from across the room
I really got the short end of the stick with this one
cooler master v850 gold. you'd be really hardpressed to get an actual garbage psu unless you are trying, like buying used or literal no name shit. so long as the company warranties their shit you're all good
a while ago retards on here were convinced that my psu was gone to shit because of random restarts. I stress tested everything in the system and only when the gpu was stressed did I get random restarts. when I set a frame cap to 30 and reduced settings to potato restarts were reduced. when evga replaced my 980ti with a 1080 everything went back to normal. don't come here for computer hardware advice because you'll wade through a whole lot of shit
I have a Seasonic PSU. It was 80+ Gold or Platinum and like 360W I think... Has been solid for like 4 years now and is very quiet. I would get another.
Why spend extra money on something so unimportant? I just go to my local computer recycler, grab something from the value box. Any watt will do.
>the thing that delivers power to all computer components
>unimportant
Dude don't feed the trolls. Fuckin A
seasonic, since every good PSU from every brand is made by them, anyway.
you realize every good PSU product from corsair is made by seasonic, yes?
that's close to correct, except delete EVGA
when I told Jow Forums that I had a seasonic psu they said it was shit. it doesn't matter which psu you get so long as its a brand name with a warranty
that will almost certainly work perfectly fine for several years
actually, evga makes the best power supplies. I'm not going to provide any evidence to support my claim. not even an anecdote
evga is garbage and has had several incidents where they don't even boot with certain motherboards.
>actually, evga makes the best power supplies. I'm not going to provide any evidence to support my claim. not even an anecdote
well you added an anecdote, so now your claim is still worthless
But what is the best SFX power supply?
FSP/Fortron make good PSUs, im surprised they haven't been mentioned yet. I used a Corsair before and its been good too.
RGB power supplies exist
im still using a Antec powersupply from 2007 or some thing. it has adjustable voltage so you can set it exactly. should really upgrade it thou I imagine soon.
I'm gonna buy a full modular seasonic psu with at least 850w next time.
My corsair h(x?)750 burned three videocards out (current 760, and both 460s I had lying around from old build). Plus it had coilwhine.
This RM650 seems much better so far.
>quoting different post
wat
same
This got great ratings in 2011, so I bought it for my first build. Still using the same PC without any issues besides having to replace fans.
FUCKING COIL WHINE, JESUS CHRIST
.....whoooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP *CLICK*
>I too want to see live what wattage the psu is consuming
bought a really fancy seasonic and it broke multiple times had to pay for shipping each time, each time i get it back it broke within a month. what a joke company.
bought a cheaper ocz and its lasted for 4 years without an issue. never buying seasonic again.
This thing. It had coil whine, or fan bearing whine at first, but that died down over time. Probably got worn in.
>tfw I have a unopened Seasonic Prime 650 Platinum
did I fuck up Jow Forumstechnology?
I have the CX500M, pretty nice for 30 €. Still werks.
Also I have the Seasonic Prime Titanium 650 W in my main PC, because its the best PSU on the market.
used bequiet/enermax 500+w units for most builds since you can get them for like 15-20€ and they usually still last long
> Several years
Really, mine only less than one :-@
>you can turn off LED
>135mm fan
>gold
>wallet friendly
Praise the Antec.
Sometimes, mediocre brands do good projects once in a blue moon.
>raidmax
Make my case fans hum, well I didn't even know that the psu fault until I change to decent brand.
A good fan is just a band aid, the true fix is a efficient PSU, some 80% POS is turning 20% of the power your PC sucks into heat, so yes that would need a huge fan, a 90% PSU would only get half as hot, so would need half the cooling.
Seasonic is where it's at
Whoah, that looks exactly like my Corsair PSU.
>10 years in about a month
Amazing quality
Rebranded Seasonic I guess.
Supposedly pretty good quality, been running flawlessly for 3 years straight under pretty nasty ambient temps at times when I had matx.
Nice and cool now tho, we'll see how it holds up, got it for $120 in 2015.
G3 master race
How did I do
I have a seasonic M12. There was something sort of rattling once but it stopped and never happened again. Works perfectly otherwise.
>No RGB shit
>Platinum
>Not too big
>Dad buys me a computer after begging him for months as a little girl.
>Fall in Love with it.
>Summer time
>pull the lid off and activate the stand fan next to it.
>Turn on computer.
>Power supply unit literally explodes in my face.
>your cable routing and guts look like
>ABSOLUTE
>DOG
>SHIT
rate mine
Superflower actually
I use the EVGA 1000W P2, literally a tank and fan never turns on under load. Only bad thing is the cables, they arent flat and use that cheap mesh sleeve.
Seasonic 550W
Silverstone strider gold 1000w, going for 5 years so far
That has some uses for heavy testing (like balls to the wall water loop overclocks). Anyone doing an LN2 run will be using probes.
I have the Edge 550
Definitely recommended
Pretty good for the price. I've been using one of those a few years now.
that fan should be sucking from underneath the case and sucking cold fresh air into it, and blowing it out the back. and the case should be propped up a few inches and not directly on top of carpet. its sucking hot air from in tthe case into it to coollll it..
I have a corsair rm1000xi heard the 750rmx and under had some chinese parts in them. anything above that, and you where good.
I had an antec 650 psu first one i bought that didnt come with the pc, only other pcs i had before that was a HP, then i bought some local computer store that included some junk dog shit psu. i bought a 500 watt with 18amp on the +12v rail so i could use my new video card when i upgraded that junk local comp store junk pc, it came with a 350watt and said upgradable to p4 computer. i upgraded the video card from none to a 6800 128mb geforece, then the celeron cpu it came with to p4. then the psu started quitting and shutting dow the pc. 500 watt local junk one worked but needed something robust for the next computer i built for core2duo.
antec lasted me 4y11m 5y warranty. landlord blew it by flicking the circuit breakers on an doff like 3 times, like na idiot working on something. called them, and they replaced it under warranty. said theyd fix it and send it back. send me a new, version psu 650w. still use it. used it 3 1/2 years before upgrading because i needed it for what i was planning on doing.
some site opens psus and checks whats in them. on the web
Extremely silent. I use this in a mitx build.
Had it for 4 years now
my cousin had a psu from a company that caught on fire, and after blowing it out, had tons of dust in it. it kept working. he thought it was blew then i reset the breakers and was like, i wonder if it works? clink, piff bzzzZZZZZ
Why shouldn't I just get a 20$ 500w PSU.
got this one, running 24/7 for almost a year now desu
Because you'll actually set your house on fire.
Because
>a 20$ ""500w"" PSU
more like 225w
At $20 I'd be worried running it at even 100w. Hell, I'd be worried just plugging it in with no load at all.
pic is my power supply
