this often happens when Im looking for help on some programming stuff and open everything in new tab.

at some point I just mass-close tabs to the left of my current tab

>renting a VPS
>latest version for Ubuntu server is 16.04
>Linux kernel is 2.4 because host uses openlz or whatever it’s cslled
>trying to host a game sever in it and haven’t done so since 2013
>trying to get two ports open through ufw
>it says that the ports are open but the ports keep closing and opening for whatever fucking reason
>I’ve had 20+tabs open trying to find this issue for 7 hours now with no solution

Wasted my day with this shit.

Can you explain the benefits of vertical tabs? I know some people have used tree style tabs and such for years.

Why don't you people use bookmarks?

For me, tabs are the temporary consumable things, and bookmarks are things I either enjoyed or things I can't consume in the short term, like online programming books.

it shows what info is in each tab to make navigating easier

*coughs*

Fuck that, just download those sites and print them.

Most screens are 16:9 or 16:10. So they have more horizontal space than they have vertical. But sites need more vertical space than horizontal.

So the benefits of vertical tabs are twofold.
>if you have loads of tabs you can actually see tha tab title instead of having to scroll through dozens of tab "stumps" before you find the correct one
>you take off the regular tab bar and free some of that precious horizontal screen space and put more useful stuff there (like bookmarks for example)

Either way vertical tabs are still probably the one of the most important reasons why I stay away from chromium-based browsers.

I just switch browsers once my tabs get out of control. It's a vicious cycle.

Use this and save the links in a text file.

I had to do it because I can't really deal with more than 7500 tabs at the same time...

You could also use OneTab for this though.

I have ~1400 tabs on Firefox and ~60 on Chromium

This. Been using it and it really streamlines dealing with tabs.

>come back to PC
>for some reason at log in screen
>log in and open firefox
>all tabs are gone, no previous session and history from past ~6 months is wiped
wtf, I don't even remember what all those tabs were

Nice Windows 95 you have there, boomer.

Right click, close all tabs. If you actually needed that stuff you would have read or saved it already.

none of you ever heard of onetab?

I'm surrounded by filthy casuals.

Get the All Tabs Helper extension. You're welcome.
