Want help? >State the budget & CURRENCY for your build >List your uses - e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work >For monitors, include purpose (e.g. photo editing, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable) >Don't use Speccy, you retard. Use HWinfo, SIV, etc.
CPUs >i3 8100 - Bare minimum gaming (dGPU optional) >i5 8400 - Consider IF on sale >i5 8600/K - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs >i7-8700K - Best for all gaming >I9/Xeon - HEDT
Motherboards >All series Intel boards can utilize fast memory
RAM >8GB - Enough for most gaming use >16GB - Standard for heavy use >32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this much >Current CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal
Graphics cards >GPU prices have gone down 1080p >GTX 1070Ti if seeking higher fps & you have a CPU + monitor to match 1440p >GTX 1080Ti if seeking higher fps & you have a CPU + monitor to match 2160p(4K) >Titan V
Storage >Consider getting a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & large HDD >2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB >M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard
Monitors >PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING
I want the PC mainly for gaming and emulation, going to pair the CPU with a GTX 1080 and eventually upgrade to a 1440p monitor.
Thing is, people say that an i7 will last longer, and others say that hyperthreading is a meme. Literally 50/50 split whenever I ask. So what do you guys think?
Jacob Diaz
You need an i9 if you want an optimal gaming experience, even intels new 28 core will hit 5ghz
Isaac Williams
>Can I safely set my monitor to 72Hz even though its 60Hz? sure. Worst thing to happen is that it has artifacts, in which case you'd need to set it back to a refresh rate where that doesn't happen
Sebastian Ortiz
God i fucking hate AMD so much
Brayden Edwards
Good thread for once.
Ryder Carter
>installing games on ssd Unless you are an arab prince why would you If you can wait get i9 on september that will btfo every cpu in existence, else get the 8700k if you dont care about money
Brayden Collins
>8600/K >multithreaded work Good one.
Camden Walker

>tfw stayed up all night building my first PC >finally turn it on and beautiful rgb fans and shit start turning >connect the moniter >no signal

I'm looking for an upgrade for my [email protected]. Used i7 3930k are affordable but socket 2011 mobos are expensive now. What used CPU's would you recommend?
Angel Brown

Go away shill, AMD has security issuers amdflaws.com/
gentle reminder that this is summer keep calm and bear with it
Jacob Cox
stop being poor
Juan Reyes
Thanks. I do like the sleeved cable of the enermax, it would certainly add to the cost if I did it myself. I want to make sure whatever I get will last me for at least a few builds, but it sort of feels like splitting hair between those two to me.
Owen Fisher
Summerfags buy AMD like you
Brandon Walker
2 rupees have been deposited into your intel(tm) shill account.
I posted in the previous thread and hope someone will be able to give me their own input and advice; I've got around £1200 to replace everything in my current computer which I will use primarily for gaming at 1080p but will give me the option to upgrade to 1440p in the future.
With this in mind, I've got the option of a MSI GTX 1080 ARMOR OC 8GB GDDR5X Graphics Card or a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti SC GAMING Graphics Card; the 1080 is around £30 more than the 1070, though someone in the previous thread told me that Armor cards have noise and heat problems. Could anyone clarify this or give me an idea on what one I should go for?
David Barnes
they always have shit psu, mobo, ram and chink brand gpu
Andrew Powell
Buy intel, its UHD 630 graphics will leave you satisfied.
Thomas Peterson
1080 over 1070 or 1070ti
Sebastian James
you can choose which parts you want with most providers
James Sanchez
Oh lord do I wish I had an Intel® Core™ processor right now
Josiah Rogers
Go 1070ti
Andrew Edwards
i9 is a huge price increase, at first I thought you were trolling. I doubt I will need such a huge power for gaming. I'm just wondering of the same holds true for an i7.
Parker Hughes
>you can choose which parts you want with most providers and by the time you've swapped out all the chick shit with anything decent you end up paying more for the pre-built then if you had built it yourself
>though someone in the previous thread told me that Armor cards I also said get something cheap since you said you'll be upgrading the card anyways in the next year or so
Oliver Campbell
>huge price increase it doesnt matter what you pay for you get, quality
Hunter Perry
Fuck nvidia, wait for intel GPUs to BTFO nvidia
Adrian Phillips
I'm thinking about selling my 1060 and buying a 580 for FreeSync. Would this be dumb?
of course you're gonna pay more you autist but it gives you the peace of mind that is something fucks up you can get an easy warrenty
Jaxon Flores
>Oh lord do I wish I had an Intel® Core™ processor right now I just purchase my Intel® Core™ i7-8700K Processor(12M Cache, up to 4.70 GHz) recently. I must say i'm quite impressed. For only the low low price of $359.00 - $370.00 i can game with the pinnacle of gaming performance technology. Truly there is no better product for the money in the market
>Would this be dumb? yes wait till your upgrading to take that leap. You don't know what your really missing so don't bother yet >something fucks up you can get an easy warrenty
Levi Cook
I had always assumed that 36"+ would be the minimum useful size for a 4K monitor, but there are some very nice deals on 28" models at the moment. Are these worth it? Is the desktop usable at this size (with 100% scaling)?
Mason Richardson
Guys please buy amd my boss will fire me because the sales arent going up
Gavin Mitchell
U mad amd boi?
Benjamin Hill
>yes wait till your upgrading to take that leap. You don't know what your really missing so don't bother yet Alright. I'm not sure when then next AyyMD card are coming out, though. I've been looking to get G-sync instead but holy shit it's expensive.
Angel Ortiz
>tfw not biased towards any brand Feels good not being autistic
Kevin Ortiz
>has amd or intel >not biased Unless you have HP cpu you are a shill
Chase Smith
How long does it take for msi to fix or send a new motherboard? I RMA'd my mobo yesterday and i already miss it
Gib me a fucking good 1440p monitor that doesn't suck ass or costs more than a fucking GPU you monitor jewish brands ffs. >Acer/Asus/AOC 1440p 144Hz cost at least 600€ >Dell either have lag or TN >Benq only good for muh FPS at 200Hz TN experience >some nice US/asia available monitors not sold in EU Fuck EU btw, why am I not born in Trumpland or chink land? Why is this allowed, why can't I have nice things?
>can't clean out my pc cause opening the case voids warenty
Ryder Lewis
>you said you'll be upgrading the card anyways in the next year or so I think you've got me confused for another poster; I'm upgrading everything in my current computer because it's old and showing its age, and I'm doing so on the assumption that It will last me for a few years at least. Even if I could afford a card now and then get another one next year, I'd still hesitate to do that. The only person to respond to my post last thread told me that MSI cards have issues with heat and noise, and that I should be able to get a decent build for the money I have.
Luke Clark
That's with the stock cooler right?
Colton Morris
What do you think about the AOC Q3279VWF? It's 200€ right now.
