August/September 2018 is an amazing time to build a new PC.

I bought a GTX 1080

It's an EVGA, so I can step-up to a GTX 1180 when it launches

not buying a satan cpu

>August/September 2018 is an amazing time to build a new house.
Because you obviously aim to burn yours

you dun goofed
>buying 3 year old gpu

what?

>consumer cheap I9-9990K 8 core BEAST!!!!
looks like Intel is catching up to AMD

This is why I got the gtx 1070 ti, I-I did good.

>this thread again

>buying a nerfed 1080
>i did good

okey what the fuck

EVGA lets me upgrade to the new ones so it's fine

>EVGA
>2018

please pick one not both

Too bad I'm a neet and cant afford that. Sent out applications to stuff like helpdesk but havent gotten any replies. I bet its the problem is having a large gap in employment history.

>buying 14nm CPU in (almost) 2019
>5 year old transistor size
lmao

Too bad the crypto currency people will buy all 1180's....

>helpdesk
>have you tried restarting the pc?

14nm intel is still better than 10nm amd

>paid $14/hour to repeat all day "try unplugging it and plugging it back in"
but apparently having a few year gap in your history is unhirable for such something so simple.

$14/hour

fuck thank god i dont live in a shithole like usa

EVGA is fucking garbage

Except AMD is preparing to release 7nm products next year while Intel's 10nm process has stalled and is non-functional, with no release anywhere in sight.

Intel has become the CPU company that cannot shrink transistors further.

gtfo

The only thing that really matters is having actual functioning support and warranty coverage if something bad happens.

Therefore the only option is to buy EVGA. The rest of the brands are irrelevant.

no
PNY is the only with lifetime warranty

Mining crypto on $900 GPUs is dead.

EVGA is utter shit.
Asus is mostly meme, they have couple good products like the hero mobos

Sapphire is great,
XFX is great
Asrock is superb

>8 core
That's it?

Warranty means nothing if you can't even find them or get them to respond to an email (see: Gigabyte, Asus)

my old nvidia 590 died
called pny
sent me a fucking brand new 1080 for free

Guess it must suck living in a country with shit consumer protection

>Asrock is superb

Lost some confidence in them when they had to jury rig their acx cards with thermal pads.

More like
>buying a 1080 for 1070 money
I feel sorry for anyone who actually spent their own money on a 1080 in the last 10 months.

xfx is fuck garbage. They turn off voltage editing

I just bought a Titan V since I didn't want to wait desu

Xfx is cancer

Just say you went to college but dropped out because it didn't "resonate with your core" or some stupid millennial shit like that.

I wish corporate shills would fuck off

ok

The newer AM4 stuff is good shit.

Yeah, really sucks running the planet you live on.

>Nvidia 1180
>Intel releasing a consumer cheap I9-9990K 8 core
Where's your source for this? Oh wait, it's just pure speculation and rumors.
Sage.

2019 Q4
7nm GPU
7nm CPU from AMD,10nm from Intel.

>>reminder
GTFO faggot

what shithole do u live in then

>that guy who thinks people get jobs by applying to them
The application is just a formality after your friend asks you to come work for him.

>tfw autistic, socially awkward, introverted, etc

Evga is overhyped
Xfx was great
Sapphire uses crap coils
Asrock is retarded in every sense

>Intel
Hi rabbi

>at the cost of your own citizens
Priorities. It's OK though, give your citizens a false sense of patriotism and you can treat them the way you want.

>PNY
>Anything above Chinese Garbage

Will my 8700k be obsolete the second i9-999k hits the shelves?

>zotac and msi shit
I see Jow Forums is just as contrarian as the other boards on this shithole.

I have a 1070 and a 6700k and a bunch of other parts for a complete build from like 2-3 years ago that I never built due to IRL issues. I was planning on doing so this week, but this makes me reconsider. Should I try to sell both and the motherboard and then buy a neew GPU/CPU/mobo later this year?

My main concern is that I'm not in a position to be spending much money now, and I imagine even iif I sell thee stuff tthere'd still be a difference of around 400$-500$ to buy the new parts.

Also, I only have a 1080p/60fps display, and my understanding is that most GPU's/CPU's aree designeed with 1400p and up gaming in mind nowadays, so would I even really see the benefiit of better hardware for gaming without a higher resolution or framerate display? Would th 6700k/1070 still be good enough to run prettty much any game at 1080p/60fps on high settings for a few more yars?

>cheap 9900k
>beast
Leave shill

EVGA is hated because it's popular and people really like it

ASUS customer service will fuck you over any chance they get but their cards are good

XFX is pretty damn good

MSI is for edge

I don't have experience with the others

Stop saying the 11'series is coming when it's not.

Cite your claim faggot.

I hope this shit doesn't come out any time soon because I just got a 1080

>Would th 6700k/1070 still be good enough to run prettty much any game at 1080p/60fps on high settings for a few more yars?

Absolutely.

>still got 100,000s of cards left over
no way they'll release the next gen and let their old inventory rot

Replace that 1070 with a 1080 and yes, there's bound to be some poorly optimized games like GR Wildlands that need more power to run than usual.

If I sell the 1070 now, would I be able to buy a 1080 after the launch of the new generation of GPU with what I got from selling it, you tthink?

>1080 60
It'll be viable for ten years if you don't set MSAA.

idk, I'd just get a used 1080 with decent warranty on it after the next gen arrives, they'll be super cheap by them. Where I live, cards and other computer components are hellishly expensive anyway.

>8 cores
Call me when it's 16 and less than $1000

>being too retarded to not know where to look. Picked up 5 1080's for 450-500 over the course of the last 10 months, resold for 800 because people are retards.

Or be me and be too retarded to greentext right.

you get the point.

>Intel
>releasing
>cheap
>i9
>8 core
You can only pick two.

Doesn't matter when you have to give up half of your income to the government

>tfw graduated from highschool in 2012 but haven't gone to college or gotttene a job because i'm poor and i've had a hilariously tragic string of family and personal disasters preventing me from doing either, like family deaths/injuries, house fires, etc.

How screwed am I in terms of that gap in doing anything in life?

chips != cards
Also memory prices are still fucked hence why those chips aren't built into cards.

>Jow Forumslution

>>Intel releasing a consumer cheap I9-9990K 8 core BEAST!!!!
only 2 years after AMD did it already, nice.
In another 2 years will they finally put out a 32-core consumer chip?

Beware with help desk offers. Often it's to work in a call center and it's fucking hell.

That's a huge damn gap but it can be corrected with shit jobs.

based waitfag

Even if I get a shit job, once I ttry to get a not shit job, won't the employer see I wasn't doing anything for 6 years?

>oh, hey, you need an itx graphics card? Get fucked, here's a 250mm long card that's 3 slots tall!

fuck you, not everyone wants a monolith of rgb faggotry in their room.

Tell them your fucking house burned down and you didn't have a stable living situation for a long time

ASUS put a heatsink designed for nvidia on tge AMD 200 series
Just like nvidia and the 970 3.5gb fiasco, I have one rule: fool me once and I will never pay you to have the opportunity to be fooled again

Going to be a lot better in 2020 when intel is releasing their gaming cards
finally 3 producers on the market then

Contact your local social services office and see if they can assist you. I'm working with my state's office right now and it got me access to a psychologist who diagnosed me with ADHD.
