testing unless you want to read the unstable notes CAREFULLY before you update

samefagging here for a second, you dont need the bleeding edge packages that the arch fags say that you need. Stability and comfiness defines a good OS not
>LMAO bleeding edge
that being said ive been using testing for years and never had a problem

Testing gets you near the bleeding edge while remaining remarkably stable. This is the standard desktop version. Unstable is for if you really want to be on the bleeding edge.

Thank you Jow Forumsentlemen. Almost made a mistake

Testing and use apt pinning (unstable steam for example) for rolling packages.

apt pinning allows you to have unstable for certain packages/programs while your base system is all testing or stable.

It's pretty cool.

> His OS it's only for testing purposes or unstable

LMAO

Thanks. Ill have to check out how to do that.

stable = good for servers
testing = good for dev/desktop
unstable = good for kernel/distro devs

>carefully
it prompts you to it before installing so even grandma can run unstable

I tried using aptpinning and rebooted and now my window manager aint working. Im launched into a virtual terminal. What do?

su
apt update
apt upgrade
if theres packages not upgraded then
apt dist-upgrade

Nothing needs updating, but Im still in terminal. Should I try reinstalled the DE?

Enjoy your depricated packages losers
t. smug archie

Testing does not have as many packages as stable

>#pacman -Syu

Oh shit I never thought of it tbat way

>depricated
They aren't deprecated retard. They are still supported just not as artistically bleeding edge like you morons like. Manjaro is 3x the distro that arch is

Install gentoo

Sid. Testing is insecure.

>Testing is insecure.
I don't think that's correct. I'm under the impression that the security updates for stable come FROM testing.
