Made an app

Only apple users would be retarded enough to use something you made.

>Android has around 80% of market share
>IOS only 15%
>make paid app
>gets more profit from iOS than Android
What did they mean by this? I actually wanted to write it as just shitpost but I keep reading this is the case with literally every paid app or app that has in-app purchases

Poojeets just pirate everything.
iOs users are mostly clueless idiots who are happy to spend a little on Apps - "It's less than the price of a coffee"

Depends on what you're writing and your manpower/budget/time.

If you were tasked with writing an online ordering app for a pizza chain, you'd target Android first as it has more market penetration and in-app purchase metrics don't apply.
If you were tasked with writing a paid game, you'd write for iOS first, since you're more likely to have paying customers.
If you were tasked with writing a free but supported by microtransactions game, I'd probably choose Android first as even though metrics show there are many more whales on iOS than Android, whales need something to attract them, like free users to sqaush with all that expensive microtransaction armor and weapons - so more free users from Android would likely attract more whales quicker since they have something to play for.

Apple is just about a pipe dream in developing/poor countries (India, Africa, most of South America, Southeast Asia, China) which means that over half of all Android users barely have enough money to feed themselves that day. That isnt to say Android is exclusively for poor people, it's just the drawback of having an OS that can be used for the most expensive flagships and the cheapest chinkshit company.
Anyways, Apple tends to only exist in more developed countries due to it's price tag, so the same people who can afford an iPhone can also afford to pay for an app or a couple microtransactions.
With that, it's also a pain in the ass to pirate apps/games on Apple where with Android it's basically downloading an APK from some pajeet site and hoping it doesn't send your trap loli porn to all your contacts.

>buying apps
I seriously hope you guys don't do that.

>downloading apps from pajeet's personal shitsite
>sends your 2d lewds to all your contacts
I seriously hope you guys don't do that.

Two reasons. First, it's just a more streamlined process of getting your car set up with the App Store when you set up your account. Second, you're more likely to find a free clone of an app on Android than on iOS. Probably cuz you can develop more cheaply on Android. And of course it's easier to pirate on Android but I'm not sure that's as important as the first two reasons.

obviously you tapped into something that is not very serviced on iphone and has little competition on iphone.

a smart business man would completely forget about android and only develop, similar apps for iphone (they spend more money and theyre stupider)

Is it a paid app (even 50c)? There's your discrepancy: iToy owners actually have money, and your average 'droid has to deal smack to kids to pay his rent and hock shop bills.

That's good retard
Why would u want android poorfags using ur app

OP here, this app is only USA & Canada
I usually block pajeets and chinks

can you do that !?

only allow users from USA or CAN to download your app?

well that's why it's getting used by IOS users, user

yes, licensing laws and the like

Recent studies show that owning an iPhone means you're more likely to be poor. Retards are also happy to pay $1-3 dollars for an app they'll open one time and never use again. A fool and his money are easily separated.

You can select to what country you make your app available in both app stores yes

Can I make a GPS enabled "loo finder" and target it to a single country? I think I have an idea that just may work. $$$

>not using crossplatform tools to make it easy the port
show boobs and vagana! okay?

no

Pretty sure Android's 80% of the marketshare is also not made up of flagship Samsung/LG/Huawei/Sony phones either, most people I see using android are using cheap telco handsets or sub-$200 Samsung Prime phones which all run slow as fuck. I assume most people use them only for facebook/calling people.

My website gets 500 times more visitors from Google than from Bing.

Compelling argument

>not supporting your favorite developers
>being this poor

This, also if its available in other languages or easily usable by someone who doesn't speak english as a first language (not even trying to troll, the android:ios user ratio is way higher in non-western countries)

Of Androids """80%""" market share, Samsung accounts for nearly 50% of that, Huawei, Oppo and some other chink company I'm forgetting, account for the next 20% and everyone else is basically competing for the 10% left. The illusion of choice on Android is real.

>make ad that actually advertises my product honestly
>pretty even split between desktop/mobile users, or at least people who clicked the ad
>change it to some click-baity "you will NOT believe this" ad that doesn't even really represent my product at all
>ad clicks increase 10-fold
>90% of clicks/page views now come from mobile

Why are phone users such morons?

FPBP

haha yes you can

cringe

ads placement + fatfingering + touchscreen being mostly garbage lead to tons of unintended clicks

It doesn't matter to any individual buyer which companies statistically control what percentage of the market. You don't have a fucking clue what "illusion of choice" means

When every choice the consumer has availble to them is basically the same shit, just regurgitated by different companies, with different UI's attached to it, what choice is there really?

That's a different argument though. I responded to the assertion that because Samsung has high market share there is only the illusion of choice. You're arguing cuz the UI and form factor is the same, there isn't much choice. Concede I am right or argue me on the first issue then we can discuss whether or not I agree with your contention as they are very different else pic related.

You don't need more than basic shit like a web browser and email on phone, no one wants your gay ass "app" that's just opens a website or a flappy bird clone.

FPBP

The entire point was that they're all the same, colours of the same stroke of shit but even if we go with you're argument, it's highly arguable that the only devices consumers will ever be presented within the Android ecosystem, will be from these select manufacturers. A device like the OnePlus 6 will never end up on carrier shelves and as such, won't be available for the majority of consumers. I never made the point that "Android" users didn't have choice, I made the point that there's and illusion of choice within the eco-sytstem and that correlates, with the market share.

Your argument is emotional shit and you should be ashamed.

Apple is mostly used by rich Ameritards and some Europeans

k

Can someone tell me what great apps I'm missing out on?

So poojeets are bad because they are pirates. But iOS users are bad because they will actually pay for apps. Nice.

I've actually noticed a pretty even split in terms of iPhone user ownership. The first group consists of people who are wealthy (moderately to insanely so), and buy an iPhone because all their rich friends buy them and they can't have anything but a blue text bubble. The other group consists of fucking major league poorfags, who spend everything they have buying the phone and then struggle to keep up with the monthly subsidy payments. I'm not sure why they buy them, probably to appear less poor for the most part, although a few get iPhones because they're too retarded to figure out anything else. You know all those people you see walking around with iPhone screens that have been smashed? Ever notice that the cracks in the screen are filled with grime? It's because they have had broken screens for a while, but since they are already at their limits financially, they literally cannot afford to get them fixed.

Almost none of the middle income people ($50-$100k) I know have an iPhone. They always go for Android, because it's "good value for money". Like the Nissan Altima or Honda Accord of phones.

Just because you made an app doesn't mean people should buy it.
What you are seeing is the difference between a community that has been conditioned into micropayments and a community where you need to at least be better than the free offerings.
