The newest big thing is going to be smart contracts. Contracts that execute automatically when parameters in code are met. Blockchain is amazing for this as it gives a way to freely access the contracts by all parties, and have a standard for what the truth is too. No human trust is involved.
Besides that, loads of stuff. We're still figuring it out.

Smart contracts sound good in theory, but I don't see them replacing trust based systems. With smart contracts you can only transfer tokens and maybe digital data, but if you want to exchange physical good, like buy a computer, there would still be a way to scam.
